Does The Drop have midi learn and can you control both filter with one knob? (To create bandpass)
there's a demo which is probably the best way to try something and get answers specific to your questions.

It has a function to move both filters at once.
Not sure if it has internal MIDI learn as i always use the easy peasy Reaper one
The GAS is always greener on the other side!

No MIDI Learn. But there's nothing preventing you from using the Learn parameters of your DAW to map hardware to the plugin.

For your second question, that's what the Shift knob does. It controls the frequencies of both filters.

Captain wrote: Wed Feb 09, 2022 5:24 pm Heh, another problem with 1.7.2: Seems like the automation parameters for cutoff frequency and resonance (both HP & LP) are missing? I opened an old project where LP frequency is automated, and Logic crashes as soon as playback hits the automation. I also can't find the parameters in the list any more. Reverting back to an older version fixes the issue, and I just re-installed 1.7.2 one more time, and the parameters are again missing.

(The Drop AU, Logic Pro 10.7.2, OS X 11.6.2)

(Yeah yeah, I should probably write to the support email address instead of here, but Andy seems to be active here too, and here other users can give their feedback too, which I like...)
Thanks for reporting this. I looks like this is a problem introduced with a fix I made to get auval to work on "meta" parameters, those parameters that change from a change to another parameter. For example with LFO 2 if you change the pattern number, then the LFO 2 steps change, since each pattern can have a different number of steps.

The modulation depth parameters in the middle of the screen actually change LP Freq etc, so they would have caused it to be reported as a meta parameter and so they were removed from the automation menu. I have now limited the meta parameter reporting to not include those modulation depth controls (which can't be automated anyway).

Please try out v1.7.3 (or above) at the web page:

Working now, thanks again! (Just need to rescan the plugin + possibly reboot after updating)

Thanks, I'll demo it again.

Actually, in Cubase it's not possible to use Learn parameters if you're already using the 8 slots on other synths or effects, even though you have several free MIDI hardware controllers connected. Cubase sucks in this way so I usually use MIDI to be able to control everything in a project globally.

See this as a feature request for MIDI learn. :)

I think we're all hoping Cubase's Remote Control features get the promised overhaul in the next version and this is a thing of the past. Putting my opinions about Steiny's recent antics aside, this was my LEAST favorite thing about Cubase and was why I bailed on it as a DAW. Seems like they're finally going to address it.

I've got this showing up just fine with Logic. Can you please send an email to support@cytomic.com to discuss this further? We can then post back here once we have sorted out what the source of the issue is.

Agree. What a groundbreaking plugin. It was one of the first ones I bought years ago and use it in every single mix. Also, rock solid since day 1.

I would buy a Cytomic modular synth in a heartbeat.

I'll be happy to just get native Apple Silicon support and nothing else for The Drop, The Glue, and The Scream in 2022. If VST3 can come with that, I'm sure the Cubase users will also be happy. After that, The Scream with the MD mode that's been discussed (new circuit solver), The Glue v2, Cytomic Modular stuff would all be very welcome but I'd gladly wait for.

developer must waste their time updating for new os, rather than new toys.

Well, not to pick on Andrew, but there's been plenty of time for developing new toys. Creating lots of new products just doesn't appear to be a priority for Cytomic.
