hey guys, so im planning for a new intel cpu in future but i would want to keep 6 sata ports, sadly the newer Asus Prime boards only have 4x sata and i dunno if i wanna switch to Gigabyte, i always had ASUS . do you guys have any recommendations and maybe experiences with Gigabyte? maybe it is safe to say it is as good as asus? thx

For me it is more about the model than the brand, but no experience with LGA1700.

The less we have running in the background(services/programs), lower
the DPC will be.
My castrated Windows 11(Asus TUF B550 + Ryzen 5600x) is giving this

Yeap, my old X79 gives around 42µs with Win7

When I get my new machine eventually I'll be going Win11 with it. Hopefully the update cadence should be slower than on Win10. Anyway, not sure if Sledgehammer is yet on Win11 but I'll be taking backups much more than with the current Win7

It depends on what you're trying to achieve. As far as I'm using Gigabyte, there are no real differences between the two (I'm also an ASUS user for the past 5 years) in terms of performance. Durability-wise, I prefer Gigabyte with its Ultra Durable construction, and it proved what it claims to be.

There seems to be differences. Also in audio one wants a board with least bolted on add-ons.

In terms of motherboards, I can only speak as i've found, i've owned both ASUS and Gigabyte boards over the years and I've had more issues with ASUS.

I only buy gigabyte boards now.

I've had 3 Asus's in row, no issues... but the same rule stands: the board with least bolted on additions.

LGA1700 Motherboard? Asus or Gigabyte
