Windows version not available. :(
But is seems most of what the Fugue Machine can do can be done by following the Venus Theory video.
Also thinking about Audiomodern’s Riffer. There are 4 independent tabs that can sequence and run, well, independently from each other. No probability controls, but with the option to lock some notes AND regenerate the other notes after X amount of passes… I think it could useful in a similar way.

I’m embarrassed to say that I have never tried to use it that way yet. Bad job by me.
Riffer is getting the “intelligent “ functionality that’s now in playbeat.

I have it :)

I also have chordjam and i love it honestly. I use it a lot.
I have a masters degree from music composition but there’s something simplistic and functional about chord jam that i love.
I didn’t expect i’d be using it this much.

I have all the Audiomodern line up, so this is good news. Is this a recent update? Or do you have double secret access??

sorry piss-poor wording on my part:
i have riffer,
i don't have riffer with intelligent stuff :)

i've talked with support about an unrelated issue with chordjam and logic 10.7 M1, and mentioned the intelligent thingie and they said it's coming

Hey all!

Now that I figured out how to get the Wotja 22 vst3 to correctly send midi data between tracks in Studio One 5, I ended up putting together a track that features Wotja 22 and Rast Sound's R.I.G and Motif. I haven't posted this in the Wotja 22 thread as it doesn't solely feature Wotja. Anyhow, I know there are a few of us that monitor both threads. :)

The track is 'moody electronica' and is accompanied by my usual 'aural postcard' video (made with Magic Music Visual: https://magicmusicvisuals.com/)

The 'lonesome piano' and strings are from midi data captured and edited from Wotja 22. The piano is the free upright felt piano from Westwood Instruments. The strings are the free Spitfire Labs Frozen Strings (I believe).

The additional melodic & noise elements are midi data captured and edited from Rast Sound's R.I.G and Motif (https://rastsound.com/downloads/generative-collection/). There are some keyboard sounds from Tape Piano II (from Thenatan) and I think a free music box sound from somewhere. The noise and foley sounds were from R.I.G.

Microtonic supplies the beats.

I think that sums up all the tracks. Enjoy!

@dopet: Is "Music for the Zen Room" the same as "Struggle of the Oriental Lily," or did you accidentally upload the same composition twice?

Hello! Actually, Music for the Zen Room is the title of a playlist. I only ever put one song in that playlist…. Struggle of the Oriental Lilly. I never did get around to writing more for that playlist. :). I think that’s why it seems like a double upload. I should probably just get rid of that playlist… :)

Wow…. I appreciate you taking the time to check out some other tunes. :). Cheers!

I just played some stuff randomly. Those two titles caught my attention and appeared to be the same or similar when I played part(s) of each. I thought they were separate "songs."

Thanks for sharing the music and the information @dopet

I am curious about the Rast Sound generative stuff. I have had it in my basket a few times but never quite hit the buy button, mostly because I never see any feedback about it. So I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

Post

They seem to post a lot in the Bargains thread for sales. I wonder if the generative stuff goes on sale.

@Musical Gym

I have never paid full price for the few Rast Sound items I have, although they have been decent quality. I receive their newsletter and their Generative Collection (all or separate parts of it) comes up regularly in sales and sometimes in their "secret" monthly offer, where there are supposedly limited numbers available (probably a marketing ploy).

I have just been looking at their website again and saw this which might be of interest (I'll try to stick to MIDI related items although there is some overlap with some also being instruments)...

Designer Drums
https://rastsound.com/downloads/designer-drums/
Not interested in the styles/kits so much as the Drag to MIDI and builder modes - "If you want to build longer sequences that vary over time, we got you covered. Natural mode will apply smart, minor changes, creating long natural sequences automatically. Cubist & Xtreme modes creates surprise results."

Just for completeness, these are the items that make up their Generative Collection, all of which have Drag to MIDI...
They also currently have an offer on their Atmospheric Collection for 59 EUR which gets you
Cinescapes PRO v2 (Drag to MIDI)
Deep Element X (not MIDI)
Sounds of Mars (not MIDI)

Also, Calm Pro but it seems to be audio only; I have a free version of this which doesn't do MIDI out from Kontakt but maybe Pro does IDK? Does anyone have it and can confirm?

Hey everybody,
I wanted to let you know that I just released Stepic, my step and modulation sequencer that was previously only available as Max for Live device, as VST3 & AU plugin - StepicVST.
https:/devicemeister.com

I post here because I think this thread is awesome and always enjoy reading it.
I hope, even if it is self-promotion, to make a small contribution.
For one or the other here StepicVST could be an interesting option.
Thanks for all the information gathered here with so much passion!❤️

I have a quick question - on the site it says:
To modulate device parameters, StepicVST generates MIDI CC messages and sends them to your software plug-ins and hardware devices. For this to work properly, your host must support the passing of MIDI CC messages generated by StepicVST. We have already successfully tested StepicVST with these hosts:

Apple Logic Pro • Steinberg Cubase • Bitwig Studio • PreSonus Studio One • Cakewalk by BandLab • Cockos REAPER

Looking for Ableton Live support? Take a look at Stepic for Live.
I use ableton with other VST sequencers to route CCs to plugins and hardware synths with no problem. What is it specifically that ableton can't do with the VST?

Live doesn't pass CC messages sent from StepicVST for controllers 3, 9, 14, 15, 20-31, 33-37, 39-63, 85-90, 102, 103-127. At least on Windows systems on which I have tested. Unfortunately, I haven't found a cause or solution. Since Stepic for Live exists, I did not pursue the issue further. Instead, I decided to offer a bundle for a very reasonable price to users, who want to use Stepic with Live and other hosts.
