Cool. Thanks for the heads-up.

Amazing! Besides the small GUI they are all wonderful

Nice. I use a lot of their software products going back to 2015 and some of the legacy free ones are those I paid for but were never updated. That's fine. I've gotten used to the risks of being a plugin consumer. This is a nice opportunity for people now to play with these cool toys.

I did a livestream making a track using only this free collection
LOTS of great stuff in there, one of my favorite tracks i've made in awhile

really enjoyed phosphor and a few of the effects, basic is also a lovely synth

a few of them wouldn't install for me, but that's ok, most of it was great
Tattoo was awesome for this demo, sounds good but I likely won't use it again
Automaton was super cool, didn't use it much in the stream but I'll likely come back to it
Axon allowed me to quickly layer in some cool background textures, would like to revisit this one
Fluid vapor and liquid all made for some nice motion/diffusion
Fuzzplus was the perfect distortion for all of this, will have to give it a try in other mixes
bitcom and bigseq let me have some fun with sequenced controls, though I'm not sure if I'll break them out ever

used a few others in the stream
Check out my website for synth/software articles reviews and presets http://databroth.com (new review every monday)

I also do experimental sound design and demos of plugins (no talking) on my youtube: https://www.youtube.com/databroth

I think these “risks“ only exist with the “wrong mindset“.
If someone handled his plugins and DAW like true hardware (not upgrading, keeping the system as a whole “instrument“), there's actually little difference in longvity, even if some future OS, or screen resolution might render things unusable.
Just don't upgrade and keep your system(s) as a whole
The GAS is always greener on the other side!

I was only missing Ratshack Reverb (could not bring myself to pay for it) and now I have it :)

I'm glad you framed your point as an opinion, because it's certainly not a fact in that for many people it's not about having a "wrong mindset". It's more accurately about lowering expectations - despite whatever is advertised or assumed about a software product, anything can happen at anytime to comprimise your use of it. For example, it's not sufficient to "keep your system(s) as a whole" because many software products can stop working because of broken and unsupported DRM. It's not a "wrong mindset" to make purchase based on advertised points, but it is wrong to assume your software is going to last forever. But that's not what you meant.

That's too funny because a) I totally understand! b) that was one of the first AD plugins I bought! I used the hardware when I was a kid trying to do electronic music so to see a software emu of it was a must-have. I'd have paid $200 just for a nostalgia! But... that's a kind of unique edge use-case. :D

Thanks for the heads-up - this is a wealth of good stuff for free!

I used the hardware back in the 80's. It was the only reverb I could afford back then. Did a great slapback iirc ... :tu:

Btw, Dubstation have a reg code in zip, but code not require during install. (at Win at least)

Automaton has been my secret weapon on hihats for several years. Combine that with Panstation and there you go!

Anyone running modern Mac OS on an intel system having any luck? I haven’t been able to be at my studio today but I’m eager to install these and see how they work. Really happy to see some really classic stuff there. Some of these are some of the better freeware options you’ll find if they work.
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.
