Lot of hate for L2, I used to use it in my mastering chain all the time, sounded fine to me.....it has various settings you know

I'd say also L1/L2 as they were pushed way over their limit (teehee) back in the day. I still have nightmares :D

Plugins don't kill mixes people kill mixes.

You'll have to pry my plugins from my cold dead hands!

I hear Stutter Edit in perceived every second track I listen to.

Not that I think it has done any damage to the music... I agree with NinjaToon here. Plugins don't kill music, people do. If then.

If everybody want to make music then so be it! Somebody needs to write a definitive book on the subject making/recording/mixing music, a good book without any bullshit!

Re: Plugins don't kill music, people kill music / guns cliche

Let's rephrase the question then. If those music-killing people used plugins to help them achieve it... which plugins did those people use?

Any tool in the wrong hands can do serious damage. Which tools are typically used in such a way?

Admit it. You're just looking for the best way to destroy music.

I won't support that. Long live music.

Too late, Spotify has already destroyed independent music and thus Music.

So many destroyed stereo images in budget production. Still get mixes with wrecked stereo.

Second contender “monoizers”

Multiband compression over a mix takes a great amount of experience to not make things worse. I remember years ago information portals like Computer Music used to throw out stupid suggestions of aggressive ratios to use in multi band compression, as if it were a crucial part of finalising a track. Indeed, Izotope Ozone was perfect for achieving a frazzled home master.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Yeah, my vote goes to multiband compression, master spatializer and autotune.

What's wrong with L2 BTW? Not a Waves fanboy, don't own a single Waves plugin nor do I intend to, just curious.
