Yeah the Pulse 2 is pretty sick. Very thick sound.

Still in love with the Matriarch. It has a very organic quality and goes to some nostalgic/melancholic places. So easy to get lost in.

Shoutouts to megaFM as well. To me, it's the essence of 00s-era dub in a box. Very limited though.

Nah, there are already far too many synth-hate threads on the internet. Gearspace would be a ghost town without them.

Korg NTS-1. Some of the oscillators and effects that people are coming up with for this (especially Sinevibes, Tim Shoebridge and Tweeeeak! (see here )) are incredibly inspirational. The quality of sounds that come from this $100 USB-powered box is astounding to me, and the capabilities just keep growing. Plus, MIDI over USB makes it a perfect travel companion for my Windows tablet and a very convenient external sound source for my Monome Norns Shield. I just bought a second one to use primarily as an effect unit for other synths. Well worth checking out, IMHO.

Did not know what exactly to expect from the youtube vids when I got my midi’ed Formanta Polivoks in 2020, but I was completely blown away. Had never heard anything that fat, noisy, spitting, leaking and rumbling like a Sovjet tank. It has made it to at least three of our tunes, and I love it so much. I used to go for the -24 db moogy sounds on my synths, but this rebelish out-of-control -12 db filter + ultra fat oscs just opened the world anew. Holy fck.

…and another one to add to the list. For the past few weeks there have been two Dreadbox Typhons for sale locally at good prices. One of them was basically new, but whenever I watched demos, they just didn’t convince me that I really needed to add another analog mono to my arsenal. Anyway, he dropped the price on it, so I thought, what the hell, I can always resell it at that price. Long story short, it ain’t going nowhere! It’s not the most intuitive synth, but it sounds amazing and the part I like the most about it is probably the part I thought wouldn’t use - those onboard Sinevibes effects!

IK Multimedia UNO Synth Pro. I honestly did not expect much. My desktop version looks like a toy, but it is an extremely versatile synth.

Deepmind 12, use it constantly and on basically every track. It's like a modern weird Juno.

Only problem I have is that 90% of patches I try and make turn into big experimental pads that I end up just playing around on for hours.. I say problem but I think that's why I love it so much

I'd love to see what behringer could come up with if they went down the direction of making another poly synth of their own/inspired by rather than straight clone synth. The neutron seems really great too but i'm more a poly guy.

I agree completely. I enjoy my Deepmind 12 as much or more than my Hydrasynth. Apples and oranges I know, but in terms of a sound that inspires, the DeepMind makes me smile.
