As long as it ain’t the little green wheels:

Time and again I tell myself
I'll stay clean tonight
But the little green wheels are following me
Oh no, not again

Re; BONEs...I joined the army in 1978 and I am not dead, that does not have jack to do with anything though...born with leadership qualities? Really, I dont even know where to begin...so again I just say I will believe it when an infant from the womb explains it to me...until then it's all learned behaviors. Like bertkoor said, all babies are born with potential, not talent. Some babies are born with cognitive advantages/disadvantages, some are born with physical advantages/disadvantages (some slight some severe)s. Many of those with all the potental in the world, with both physical and cognitive advantages will fail.

People with cognitive and physical limitations often overcome the issues or find a way to work with them and excel. People with cognitive issues (that could be handed down through genes) do not always process the same as others and in a cookie cutter society. We see that all the time, people with disabilities doing things that no one can believe. That comes from nurture, not nature, perhaps why nature gave us parents.

The only thing I see that they were born with was the problem, that quite likely can be genetic...but how the individual deals with that is not genetic, it is not nature, it is indeed nurture and learned. I'm sorry to say that the person only achieved success because of genetics is really offensive to that person and I think diminishing they accomplishments . How dare anyone take something away from another who had to work harder or find another way. :?

I almost died my first few days on this planet, I am sorry that some people cannot fathom the plight of some adopted children, children who stayed with their biological mothers had an advantage over those adopted. Bios are in the womb of the mother until they are born and then immediately placed in the arms of the mother which solidifies the bond and gives the infant a strong sense of security, a bond like no other (or so I have been told). Now just imagine, 1959, still not as enlightened as we should be and an adoptive baby did not get that immediate feeling of security by being put in the mothers arms (my biological mother never met me, she might have even died birthing me, I have no idea).

That is a thing we call trauma, trauma starting the moment you are born is not a great way to start out life and not all experience it the same...but I was in and out of the hospital for quite a while. The only thing my infant mind understood was, my mother isnt here, and the people that are here are hurting me. Of course they were not hurting me, but I was a newborn with an undeveloped brain who only understood a few things and those were just basic reflex actions based around a stimuli and my only effective communication was crying. I had no clue they were helping me, I couldnt rationalize at that time something like that.

Again, I came in this world with nothing but a breath and thanx to great adoptive parents I was able to survive...not some crap in my genetics that said "you come from strong stock, you'll be fine" or "you come from losers, you're doomed" :?

I started out saying about genetics, I have no reference so I dont get on with genetics (and I also said I wasnt denying them). I'm not saying I am anything special, I made a lot of mistakes, more than successes I would say, I often learned the hard way but I also had success (just like everyone else). All of that I own, I worked for it or I screwed it up (just like everyone else). I will fight anyone who tries to take that away from me, why anyone would want to is beyond me though.

Like bertkoor said...babies are born with potential, not talent.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Little green wheels in disguise. He wants the wheels to roll. Sure, together with Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

Tho, it is funny that people are talking about inherited or learned, when every talented person knows it all depends on the right combination of drugs.

I don't think anybody said it was inherited, just born with it....could be just a 'miracle'

I'm sure there are children of of very talented parents who have no talent whatsoever....
