Native Instruments have just released Kontakt 6.7.0, adding native M1 support (VST3 and AU). There are no release notes, so I don’t know exactly what else has changed.
The performance on M1 machines is as you’d expect — really good. The VST3 version seems a bit faster, though. I haven’t noticed any stability issues with the betas, I’d expect the release version to be solid as well.
It’s great that NI have finally delivered. Let’s just hope they’ll manage to roll out the rest of their portfolio in a timely manner. (Reaktor, Reaktor, Reaktor!)

Release notes are always listed in Native Access, though (annoyingly so - after you install the update). But you can also see the changelog here in this sticky thread.

Or you can just click on the Kontakt icon in the available install list in Native Access, BEFORE you install it.EvilDragon wrote: Mon Feb 14, 2022 11:17 pm Release notes are always listed in Native Access, though (annoyingly so - after you install the update). As someone who has complained loudly about NI's slow adoption of new standards here on a pretty regular basis, I'm more than happy to see my predictions about when initial M1 support to proven wrong. Very cool news! Plus, I got to be part of the beta for a whole three days!

I haven’t tested it myself, but there’s a VST2 version, just not native. Run your DAW with Rosetta and you’ll be fine, for now, anyway.btfnk wrote: Mon Feb 14, 2022 11:39 pm Did they seriously not include VST2?? I have tons of in progress projects using the VST2 that I would like to be able to open on my M1 Pro.

Steinberg has been telling developers that the VST2 license does not cover Apple Silicon support. If you want to keep these projects indefinitely, print the stems. Alternatively, take your chances with VST3.btfnk wrote: Mon Feb 14, 2022 11:39 pm Did they seriously not include VST2?? EDIT: Removed conjecture. See Evil Dragon’s post below.

so, if in Cubase and on the ARM architecture, you're going to have VST3. If you're using VE Pro, you're going to use VST2 until it will host VST3.
a regular VST version of 6.7 is installed.

Edited: I posted way too much negativity for no reason in this post so I am editing it. I actually really like this product so I'm not sure why I did that but it didn't sit well with me to leave it here.

VST2 for ARM is supposed to be there, but for some last minute bug it doesn't show, so that's to be fixed in 6.7.1.btfnk wrote: Mon Feb 14, 2022 11:39 pm Did they seriously not include VST2?? I have tons of in progress projects using the VST2 that I would like to be able to open on my M1 Pro.

Kontakt vst3 though seamlessly replaces the vst version in cubendo on Intel platforms.
It doesn't on thr native platform?
Did you try opening an older project?

Hope so! Fingers crossed!EvilDragon wrote: Tue Feb 15, 2022 12:30 am VST2 for ARM is supposed to be there, but for some last minute bug it doesn't show, so that's to be fixed in 6.7.1.
I'm dealing with Ableton projects made over the past many years on my Intel Mac. Ableton does not replace a missing VST with an AU (or VST3) version of the same plugin. If I have to run rosetta mode forever because they don't make a VST2 ARM version I'm gonna be a very unhappy camper.zvenx wrote: Tue Feb 15, 2022 12:31 am Kontakt vst3 though seamlessly replaces the vst version in cubendo on Intel platforms.

What about the underlying stuff? Can anyone please check if any Native Instruments processes in Activity Monitor are still Intel or are now running natively?
