Hey

I've been thinking about this for a bit, but does anyone know of a plugin drum editor like Cubase's native one?

This was the only thing I ever liked about Cubase, and I never liked the the feel of piano rolls for drums in other hosts.

I'm at work at present, but any suggestions (especially for free ones) would be appreciated.

Thanks
Garry.

Thanks, so quick. I've seen this before, and I thought it used a piano roll. But now I see it has a drum grid. I'll check it out tonight, but it'll have to go on my christmas list (I'm not the richest man :().

Meanwhile has anyone got cheaper (frees ? ) suggestions.

Now what I can gather this only triggers samples :? , but of course I would also like it to able to trigger my drum synths with the drum grid.

I'm pretty sure you can also use it with drumsynths or drum samplers like Battery!

Hi,

EST triggers only samples, has pianoroll+drumgrid and 12 tracks.

ERA is the midi-out counterpart, it triggers everything you want (plugins and hardware) inside your host.

Demos for both plugins are available. If you have questions, you can visit the sonicbytes forum.

Bugger, my apologies for mentioning the wrong one.

Although the naming is what's confusing...

I keep thinking its supposed to be E-ST for (STep) as the sequencer and E-RA (as in Rhythmic Accompaniment or something) for the Groovebox thingy, but thats the wrong way round aint it?

ERA sound great, but unfortunately I'm using Live 4.

And now I've just realised, with Live not accepting MIDI this may not be possible :-o . Now that's a thread in it's self!

Does anyone know if it's possible in Live 4?

I'm not sure of this is what I'm after, as ModulaR doesn't give enough information. :?

try in google define:EST and you'll get something like:
Expressed Sequence Tag. A partial sequence of a randomly chosen cDNA, obtained from the results of a single DNA sequencing reaction. ESTs are used to identify transcribed regions in genomic sequence, to characterize patterns of gene expression in the tissue that was the source of the cDNA and as markers for genetic mapping.
ok, that's just for fun... to be honest: there's no deep meaning of ERA/EST, although EasySampleTracker sounds fine ;-)

Regarding Live and Midi: Yes, I think Live doesn't handle midi-events from VSTi's, but I'm not sure. EST works fine in Live.
