Certainly not in one plugin, you can piece together a workflow with a variety of tools that's *somewhat* similar, but it'll leave you wishing you were back in geist, every time.greententacle wrote: Wed Feb 16, 2022 8:35 am there is nothing like geist. at least from what i know.

Personally - I was never into its modulation system, and I always felt its effect were wonky and didn't gel with me.
But when it came to workflow, of just exploring hammering out a good idea - Geist was for me the most fluid tool.

I did like the way you could draw pitch in the sequencer. But I must admit, I haven't used it for years now.

For me it's the ease to humanize a drum loop, ways to produce variation patterns, and then chain them together in a way that is easily triggered from the host, and in the end not always using geist's sample playback, but possibly triggering other drum machines from it's midi. With song mode and everything you can go from a simple drum pattern to a full set of variations and sequence them into say 100 bars in less than 10 minutes.

always come up with something nice in a few minutes with geist2.
adsr for every layer and pad. modulation. the ability to sample. is there another software "sampler" that samples?
otherwise its just a sample playback.
so many things i love about it.
would pay twice the price for making it m1 native.

by the way, what's the last possible osx for geist2?

I´m using it in Big Sur without any issues - it was installed when I upgraded the OS, though - I have no clue whether the Geist 2 installer would run successfully.

i had huge problems with gui lag on geist 2 so i never got it. i used geist 1 for a logn time tho and i looked for replacement for a long time. there really is no good one outside of just using an mpc or mpc software.

Geist 2 is still my favorite drum sequencer, there’s literally too many features to name. The layering in it is unmatched, by anything. Once Maschine n Mpc started becoming more popular, development slowed down. Geist 2 for intricate programming destroys those other apps, it takes time to discover what’s beneath the hood. I’m still learning ways to manipulate sound with Geist 2, and wouldn’t trade it for any other drum sequencer. I have both mpc and Maschine, but programming on Geist 2 is another level. Shout out to Fxpansion, lately I’ve been converting the years of kits made using my Mpc and Maschine kits to work inside Geist 2.

I so much want to love geist but I can just never get into it. Still feels too clickity click and loaded with a bunch of stuff I never use. Love the concept, doesnt work for me unfortunately. Best way I have found to make really organic beats is on my elektron model samples. Something about this machine that just pushes my creativity... Guess its a workflow thing, super individual in the end

for those who are reporting that it's working fine on Monterey/Ventura. Are you on Intel or Apple Silicon Macs?
