I decided to do something that virtually no other developer will do. That is post an extended demo of just one instrument. This is 'Syrinx' by Debussy. Needless to say it is a VERY hard solo to pull off. I still have a couple of things to tweak but overall I am pretty happy with it right now. Comments are welcome.

Wow , great, you just put a lot of flute players out of work
. That sounds really good, I had no idea samples could sound so convincing, did you use a breath controller or a expression pedal to do those swells?

A work of patience and love. Very beautiful!Donnie wrote:Comments are welcome.
A minor comment: the tempo seems too stiff for my ears; I believe that playing more "rubato" would make it sound even more natural. But again, for my ears...

Good call on the tempo! It is randomized and there is "some" rubato but I agree with you that there could be more.
One cool thing is that there are no controller messages in this piece! No volume info/expression etc. What you are hearing is the natural musicality of the samples which is pretty cool. That was always one of my major complaints. Most samples play way to "plain" for my ears.
Thanks!

The best samples used in this piece are those of the deformation of the piano stool (or flute stool). Are they velocity sensitive? I mean: the faster you press, the fatter the bottom on the stool? (No offense intended).

Nice work anyway.

The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.
