I’m trying hard to convince myself this doesn’t exist.

I'm finding with some third-party WAV files, the plugin crashes.
It crashed on some Adventure Kid single-cycle waves, on some folders from Detunized libraries but not others (even though they seem to be the same format!) and on one of my own sets, a bunch of lo-fi recordings of a Kawasaki toy keyboard I was poking at in circuit-bending fashion.
You can find those at here, if it helps to debug the plugin or if anyone finds those noises useful for anything.
That said, some content I've tried that works really well in Noises:
Detunized HumBuzz and Universal Noises libraries (the ones that don't crash)
NanoElectronics (from Samplephonics)
other induction coil mic samples (I have my own, and I waved it at everything I could find for the first couple of days I had it)
recordings of hard disk drive failures (a free sample pack from I don't remember where)
raiding Kontakt sample libraries for bowed pianos, Mellotrons, wine glasses, Magnus organs, guitar power chords, etc.
I may have to record some modular drones just for this

Although different, it looks like I've found my replacement for SonicLab Fundamental (a company that has left a sour taste in my mouth after the Fundamental 1 to 2 upgrade debacle).
I just convinced myself that instead of buying plugins, I should spend more time learning Bitwigs The Grid. But I'll have to make an exception for AudioThing Noises.

Yes, we got a few reports of that (it either crashes or mutes itself) and it's due to samples that are less than 5 sec. There's an internal xfade that's 5 sec to allow for a seamless loop. We'll fix it asap and also implement more options over the internal xfade and the randomization of the start point.foosnark wrote: Fri Feb 18, 2022 4:31 am I'm finding with some third-party WAV files, the plugin crashes.
So, for now, just use samples that are more than 5 sec

see, now you've made me want to buy more sample libraries.foosnark wrote: Fri Feb 18, 2022 4:31 am That said, some content I've tried that works really well in Noises:

out of curiosity:
using 3rdparty/my-own sounds/samples does not work in the demo, does it?
i tried to put in some wavs into the "noises" folder but to no avail
as link, as symbolik link and directly copied into the folder, into one of the sub-folders
none of them show up in the plugin...

No, you can't use custom banks in the demo, but you can swap the samples of one of the active banks with your own if you really want to try them.muki wrote: Fri Feb 18, 2022 2:15 pm out of curiosity:

Yes you can. Noises can be triggered in 3 ways, via MIDI, using the Trigger button, or if the Sync is set to HOST it will start and stop with your DAW playback.simmo75 wrote: Fri Feb 18, 2022 3:38 pm Can you actually play this one with a midi instrument or is it just via the onboard sequencer?

a little tipp:
if anyone has something by glitchmachines (quite likely i suppose):
they come with tons (gigabytes) of quite nice samples that can be used quite well with noises
or also Iris2 and alike....

The demo was enough to easily convince me to buy it, and I appreciate that I didn't have to download too much to demo it.D.K Envelope wrote: Fri Feb 18, 2022 3:35 pm i think this is a great idea but the demo sucks really hard

I wanted to test out my NOIZE pack of noises, which work with other similar plugins. The demo version does not let me browse the samples – they are greyed out. Is there a way to test this out with our own samples, so I can see if they work? If they do work in this, I want to add it to the NOIZE product page - https://newloops.com/products/noizeaudiothing wrote: Fri Feb 18, 2022 1:05 amIt shouldn't take more than 20 min to get the confirmation email. Trying to figure out how to make best use of this. I know it has an attack and release but think it might need an envelope follower to help layering with other instruments.
