These days it takes about three minutes to check KVR for any useful information after wading through all the geek speak threads then after that there is little to no reason to stay.

To be honest it's embarrassing.

My three minutes are up......
I miss the old KVR too
The old KVR was this way too. What needs to happen is for these types of threads to go to a designated forum channel. “Off topic?” “If you had to choose...?” “Pro Audio hypotheticals?” I don’t know—whatever we decide to call it. And then for admins to police it long enough for people to learn the proper place for such conversations—moving threads like this one to the new channel. We could flag the admins to any new threads of this type so they don’t have to go searching or monitoring for them. Then, simply not follow anything from that channel in your main general feed. Problem solved. 🙂

Edit: let’s put these threads in the “Everything Else (Music related)” channel.

Edit2: There is a “Customize” setting to select which forum channels you want to follow or ignore. Then these threads won’t show up in your feeds.

Wow three whole minutes, that must be hell for you.

Also have to love people whining about a thread, somehow failing to realize in doing so they only add to it and bump it to the top of the list. Now that's embarrassing.
now he's going to have to use his three minutes a day, replying to you!

Could we still use plugins?

I don’t think an audio forum would be the best place to discuss the plugs available in a DAWless world.

The problem is that KVR forums could be a powerful force for good in music, but they've turned into toxic attention wh0ring and people trying hard to "make a funny". I get that people are lonely and bored, but there are much better places for this kind of nonsense, and it detracts from the experience for people who are actually serious about music.

Remember when some n00b producer came to KVR, humbly learned from the elders, and went on to produce a chart topping single? Yeah, I don't remember that either. But I'm sure most of them are familiar with KVR, but choose not to post here because it's pointless and does not serve their goals of being successful musicians. But we could choose to change that right now.

No they just spend the next 10 years arguing over whether u-he or Synapse is better for trance bass and never finish a song.

Dude. Get out more.

There are many threads here talking about many things in the audio world. God forbid we have a few threads that are just joking around, esp about such a frivolous topic just begging to joke around with.

So, this made-up noob producer depends on us and the seriousness or sincere concerns on the part of forum members you're choosing to have a shit on, whether or not they'll be a "successful musician"?

My experience with the type is that they're not trying to be musicians at all. Thanks for your particular erudition and model sobriety, tho. Dipshit.

Or someone who used their 3 minutes for creating a new account?
