Rack - yes, synths in rack format, of which the D110 is one. However, being the late 80s, it's a long way from the "dawn of rack" though.

The first rack synths ("dawn of rack") were the Roland MKS modules (1984), and the Octave-Plateau Voyetra 8 (1983).

After those, you're hitting 1985 with the Yamaha TX816, and an increasing amount of rack synth modules being released after that as MIDI gained in ubiquity...

The new number of posts before the hate starts is now five..repeat, five..that is all.
Congrats on being able to count to five

Some people over on youtube are convinced that the 'rack' aspect points it being at a Buchla 100/200/200e emulation, but their logic seems to be predated on some faulty dates (1963 being the date of the 100 series, 1971 being the date of the 200 series, and a claim that 2001 was from 1963?), and possibly that CA have shown access to a Buchla 200e synth in the past, along with some link to eurorack (at least for the 200e, but that's a new product, the original 200 I'm not sure if it was eurorack or not).

The SH-32 came out in 2001...

I don't personally have an issue with Cherry, in fact I rather enjoy their business model. Affordable instruments that I can afford, that make nice noises! :D

I own a number of their synths, including Voltage Modular Core. My favorite Cherry synth models are Memorymode and Eight Voice.

My guess: it's rack effects, not a synth. Nothing in the video nor in the comments suggests it's a synth--that is an assumption made by (at least) the OP. The video also features rather heavily-processed audio, mostly devoid of analog synth sounds.

A rack of effects.

There. I said it.

That's my thought, too. It might come with a basic set of effects, with more to buy ala carte. It might even host third-party plugins, like Bidule and Unify. Or it might be something else entirely.
I wish I could sing as well as the voices inside my head...

One of these ... :hihi:

Effects Rack seems most likely.

I'd go for System-100.

Nobody is even mentioning what the OP said about a Turtle Beach logo. Watch the video at 1/4 speed....

I think it's an MKS-80, aka "Super Jupiter". The 2001 A Space Oddity line was a reference to Jupiter. And the Super Jupiter was a rack synth.

OP thought Voyetra-8. Which would be awesome since they're so rare and the only option is the UVI sampled thing.
