TBProAudio has released DSEQ 3.5, a dynamic spectral equalizer. DSEQ removes digital harshness on the fly thanks to self-adjusting frequency bands.
DSEQ offers now adaptive slope, adaptive threshold and natural phase filter.

DSEQ can be used in all mix and master situations:
  • de-essing vocals
  • taming resonances in e.g. drum, guitar, vocal recordings
  • removing digital harshness
  • balancing the mix
  • de-masking frequency regions
  • support of pink noise mixing/mastering
The natural phase filter reduces pre-ring while taming resonances or removing digital harshness.
The adaptive slope and threshold continously calculates the optimal slope and threshold values based on the input signal. Combined with the loundess matching it instantly improves resonances or digital harshness with no or small user interaction.

3.5??? I'm still on V2 and obviously have missed V3 :o You're releasing new versions faster than I can download
  • free update for exiting DSEQ customers
Well, I hope that's a typo, I'm not ready to exit just for a free update...

I think I bought it during version 2 and really liked it. But now I get the audio dropping out with the latest versions, even in Eco mode. Even when I export, say a guitar or vocal with it on I get blank spaces in the exported audio. Thought maybe I should go back to a legacy version until I can get a more powerful computer.

so it does a similar work as soothe2 does ? ...at what level wouldn't they be redundant ?

Post

They are redundant imo.
Soothe is easier to tweak, and dseq is more flexible

Please send an email to your support with the information OS, DAW and plugin type. We will check the issue. :tu:

audio dropouts happen when you use dseq in demo mode, no?

From the manual:
8 Demo mode versus Registered mode
In demo mode (without registering) the plugin mutes audio every 90 seconds for a short period. This could be circumvented by clicking on the "TBProAudio" logo within 90 seconds.

Well, my mistake. Duh. Sorry, I wasn't aware that I had to apply the key to every update. Registered now. Thanks for the insight and fix.
