Making a website on a server, whether it be your own computer or another; is really confusing. And what's more; you end up having to test plugins for half a year because every plug-in mentioned for wordpress on youtube turns out to be a lemon.

Here I show My good friend's website off, he makes fantastic instruments and is now making kontakt instruments that are starting to be as impressive as the instruments made by native instruments. It's really humbling to be involved with that kind of genius. He knew I had over 20 years experience and he was glad for Me to get involved.

So, his site, https://brsynth.tk was already loading well. I'd made the theme; I got it looking good and he'd wanted the SEO to be perfect so everyone would be able to find him easily on google, bing, duckduckgo, yahoo etc. So that's done; but damn - There's so many products that claim they add SEO; that totally bog down load time.

Here's a rundown of a configuration that doesn't suck and I show how adding the final touch to the site's optimization plug-ins really made a dent in the load time being very different across the ocean.
1.45 S in Washington, US, 2.4 S in Sau Paulo, Brazil. The server (who is extremely reasonable) is https://mytruehost.com.

I wish you luck with your website for selling audio and I think this will be really meaningful for you.

Good tip, thanks!

Now, time for ludicrous speed.

I mean, you thought I would shave off a few seconds; well ok. Instead we're just going to go buckwild and now:
  1. lazy load video (vimeo & youtube [automatically - based on embeds])
  2. lazy load images (made by the official wordpress team)
  3. we're going to embrace the new webp standards, and instead of using a CDN; we'll merely do everything server side; reducing image sizes by about 50%
  4. we're going to add rock solid security that makes getting into the wp-admin folder impossible.

The video:

I was able to merge the intro and this video with bandicut, but replaced the audio with the remastered with ffmpeg. That's a new fun thing. Yet, concatenating was not perfect with ffmpeg, I have a few things to learn and will. New guides with interesting guides for video soon, a new .bat method for replacing audio in an. mp4 now.

The third installment of this series is working with the space-x-chip wordpress plug-in all meta tags.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-meta-tags/
You can ensure there is a meta description and that's really important, sites like yandex will let you know that there's a problem because the description and the keywords cannot be seen.

And yet, there are "gurus" who suggest that keywords and description is not as heavily relied on as it was; I disagree. I think that this is merely in the mind and those of the same mind as wordpress plug-in makers who try to make things seem confusing and they want to make money.

I see products like AIOSEO that are a bit laughable, though good. Laughable only because they ask so much money for frankly limited functionality. I'll make a better SEO plug-in soon that costs you 5 dollars. But, for the time being, the site needed to have that so it is added for now.

I warn that you'll have to do some coding in this example, to fix the space-x-chimp wordpress plug-in. He uses single quotes when he should use double quotes. Yandex will claim as a result that there is no meta description or keywords resulting. I show, however how you can do this with notepad and I also use atom for color coding to make it easier so as to resolve that matter.

And next is fixing the Realfavicongenerator plugin. It does not output the favicon correctly (no absolute url especially) in the head and within a link element, like this:

Code: Select all

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="https://brsynth.tk/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon">
Thanks to arutyunov for mentioning the fix, and here is also a really good support question with some intuitive questions and answers that are a must read.

That will be part 4, and I'll get that up soon. Beyond that; part 5 will surround My custom made continuous music player, and using My five dollar wordpress theme that is designed to be fast and for audio sites. It will support adding to your cart and playlists and the like. It will have a waveform generated and will look modern. I might have to use the sonaar plug-in first in the meantime; I'll add special iframe code to the theme to make it a true continuous player.

Ideally ajax is the end goal, but in some cases; it may be required to use iframe as a fallback; for instance, it does not require javascript; and can be used in a <noscript> clause. There is of course nonce which is a challenge; but the real pitfall is shortcode, likely a custom made the_content call would be required so as to make it secure and dynamic in tandem.

It surprises Me, that with so little work done, so many companies are asking hundreds of dollars for plugins that I could write myself in a few days. Likely I'll replace every one of them given time.

So, rather than make a video - Here's what I did to make the site's favicon.ico relevant for search indexes like yandex. First, I found the original png I made for realfavicongenerator and then I converted it to a favicon.ico at the following sizes, using the site convertico.com, like in this thumbnail (click zoom in to see the larger)
convertico.jpg
Zoom In
I then uploaded the favicon.ico to the root url of the site.

Next, inside the theme editor, I added this code to the header:
shortcut icon.jpg
Zoom In

And that does it for yandex and those search indexes like duckduckgo, which are seeming to ensure reverse compatible methods that ensure the sustainability of information. I see the efforts of google and bing's being contrary to this; I don't often buy conspiracy theories, but if there's ever been a movement to dull people's intelligence (like how google limits youtube search results now) it's that.

It's a direct and onerous attack on information and society's ability to further the pursuit of happiness, a civil right in most countries. But when google and microsoft and mac decided against the average person, they made a choice and I see that.

And here's the final installment, with the last steps required to make your wordpress installation score a 98/100 for speed and capability.
Meet every standard and more in this last lesson.

Hi, been a while since I tended to this guide. I'd like to add that the wp meteor plug-in does not work well with Cloudflare. Please keep that in mind if you use the wordpress cloudflare plug-in and the cdn integration. Otherwise, wp meteor works very well.

I wanted to add furthermore, in the way of using cloudflare, I would not suggest you use the cloudflare plug-in. Instead, the flexible ssl for cloudflare plug-in instead.

"Hummingbird" had seemed a viable option, especially in the way that it has cloudflare integration but the positive results it seems to provide diminish. In the way of utilities from hummingbird, the optimization of assets also seemed moot. I had for instance a 12-15 mb page and about 9 seconds load time. (1.2 secs and 1.9mb with "wp speed of light")

In contrast, by employing the "wp speed of light" plug-in, the results were ideal. Is it worth it to use the cloudflare integration through hummingbird and then do all other features with wp speed of light and far future expiry? I suppose that's a relevent question that ultimately leads Me to tell the reader that when I'd turned "wp speed of light" back on while "hummingbird" was activated (with all optimizations turned off) there was a short blip where wordpress complained that it could not access the database.

I think beyond either hummingbird or speed of light, it would be good to find a good plug-in that optimizes the database and removes redundant entries tied to plug-ins that don't exist anymore.
