OBLIQUE: DARK CELLO EXPLORATIONS is a Kontakt instrument off the beaten path. A broken, haunting, sometimes terrifying yet an incredibly expressive cello instrument. This is most definitely not the instrument you want to create beautiful, epic, soaring melodies — it is a nasty beast, one that latches onto the dark corners of the mind and doesn’t let go.
We recorded master cellist Sonia Bruno taking her instrument to the absolute extremes, from the utmost pianissimo super sul tasto to the most brutal bowing we’ve ever heard, creating sheer insanity and aggression.

Very interesting, and very much the diametrical opposite of my approach to extended techniques cello. It sure seems like a lot deeper than 320 samples - did you organize things so that you have multiple samples in each file?

Hi! No, it's just very optimized. For something like this, it doesn't make sense to have too many dynamic layers per note, or to sample every note. And there's a lot of real time processing, while keeping CPU usage as low as possible.DSmolken wrote: Sun Feb 20, 2022 5:50 pm Very interesting, and very much the diametrical opposite of my approach to extended techniques cello.
