I've just installed all of the new IK updates including the newest Modo Drum. I haven't tested out the new Modo Drum yet, but I plan on doing that later on after I figure out and decide how to move the install to an external drive because space is getting tight on my main OS drive.
I like Modo Bass a lot, but haven't really gotten around to fully using Modo Drum yet, but I'm glad to see that there are new, significant updates still being released with new kits being added.

I was excited for a minute, until I realized it's just new kits you can buy. Anything added to the program itself?

no, apart from 'general reliability improvements'.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Feb 24, 2022 7:32 pm I was excited for a minute, until I realized it's just new kits you can buy. Anything added to the program itself?

Oh, I see, I didn't know that. The wording led me to believe that the 3 were included in the update, with more available to purchase, but I was obviously mistaken.manfex wrote: Thu Feb 24, 2022 7:27 pmWell, you have to pay them to get the new kits, it costs 79.99€+VATSynth Master Jedi wrote: Thu Feb 24, 2022 6:02 pm but I'm glad to see that there are new, significant updates still being released with new kits being added.

Mmm. I seem to remember the first similar MODO Bass update that added a few new bass models was free for existing users, so I'm a bit surprised they're charging owners for these new kits (although perhaps I shouldn't be). I won't be paying for the upgrade, at least not until it's significantly discounted.

The new kits are supposed to be included in both MODO DRUM and MODO DRUM SE.
However, in typical IK fashion, it looks like they've f*cked up again and the new kits aren't unlocking.
Don't go buying them if you already own MODO DRUM, and wait for IK to fix the problem.
Another IK release day, another IK cock up. Same old story.
MODO DRUM 1.5 CS is fully featured with all of the same controls and customization capabilities of MODO DRUM SE and Full. It includes the versatile Studio drum kit with 12 more kits available à la carte within the program.
MODO DRUM 1.5 SE comes with 5 kits, including the 3 new ones, with the remaining kits available via the Custom Shop in the exact same manner as MODO DRUM CS.
MODO DRUM 1.5 includes the complete collection of all 13 drum kits and is the best choice for demanding music producers and composers.

well, they're included only if you buy a new license, otherwise you will have to pay for the 1.5 upgrade to open the kits. But also, they told before that modo drum SE will be on sale for $39.99 until march 1st, and now they removed the sale

The new kits are in and are unlocking in 1.5 SE and full 1.5 versions. If you have purchased or upgraded/crossgraded to one of those versions and do not have the proper kits unlocked, IK Support would be happy to help you.

Peter, why is this "MODO DRUM Custom Shop" if the kits aren't actually available to purchase in the Custom Shop? Is the Custom Shop going to be updated with a MODO section?

Yeah, so this is what's actually happening:Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Thu Feb 24, 2022 9:35 pm The new kits are in and are unlocking in 1.5 SE and full 1.5 versions. Peter, can you give some clarification in simple direct English if existing MODO DRUM owners get the new kits unlocked when updating to 1.5?

From the press release it looks like all existing MODO DRUM owners get are the grayed out icons of drum kits you need to pay for if you want to use them. Over on the official MODO IK forum they said even if you bought it just a few days ago you don't qualify for 1.5 for free since your purchase of 1.0 is heavily discounted. Nobody Rides for Free.
Press Release
Owners of MODO DRUM 1.0 and other qualifying IK products can log into their IK user account and add MODO DRUM 1.5 to cart to see the special crossgrade and upgrade pricing available to them, starting as low as $/€79.99 for the full version.

It is confusing - took me some time to figure this out. If you already own MODO Drum 1.0 (as I did), add the regular (not SE) version of MODO Drum 1.5 to your cart. This will give you the opportunity to upgrade to the 1.5 license for $79.00, which gives you the three new drum kits. If you have Jam Points, you can apply up to 30% of your Jam Points, to the $79.00 upgrade price (which makes the cost per new kit pretty reasonable IMHO). After purchasing, you need to reauthorize using the IK Product Manager, then download each of three new drum kits sound content - about 2 GB each (either direct download and manual install from your IK Account, or using the IK Product Manager sound content download). Once that's complete, the new kits will show up in MODO Drum.
