Is this because I didn't actually pay for MODO Drum in the group buy? I bought T-Racks 5 Deluxe as the qualifying product.

I got MODO Drum in last years IKM Group Buy. Crossgrading to 1.5 would cost me € 199.95 ex vat, as the € 79.99 upgrade is greyed out for me

Well, I have Total Studio MAX 3.5 and I don't get the €79.99 upgrade either... Strange.

Yea, if only was it like that, $79 minus 30% jampoints equals $55, however, living in europe, the instead of $79 the price is 79€ for some reason, which is already $89, then you add VAT which makes it over $110, deduct your jampoints and you get $77. two dollar discount.emasters wrote: Fri Feb 25, 2022 4:57 amThis will give you the opportunity to upgrade to the 1.5 license for $79.00, which gives you the three new drum kits. If you have Jam Points, you can apply up to 30% of your Jam Points, to the $79.00 upgrade price (which makes the cost per new kit pretty reasonable IMHO).

Yeah, me too. It is quite normal that IK products that you get “for free” in promotion don’t count to crossgrade prices.kNarf_ wrote: Fri Feb 25, 2022 7:35 am I got MODO Drum in last years IKM Group Buy. Kind of understandable in a way, cause in the group buy you really get a shitload of stuff for little money. It’s the IK way of running their business, always sales with (sometimes) really good offers, then pricey updates.
I don’t need the update anyway, don’t really use MODO drums so far, I still prefer AddictiveDrums, much easier and cleaner interface and doesn’t take 4-5 seconds to load the GUI.

Great, IK have added another 'shop' to constantly show you stuff you don't own.
I wouldn't upgrading even if it was free just avoid the IK 'shopping channel'

Amplitube is the same, the GUI is now so sluggish its unusable for me.fese wrote: Fri Feb 25, 2022 1:58 pm ... and cleaner interface and doesn’t take 4-5 seconds to load the GUI.
Still, why fix this issue when you can add a shop!

The cymbals are just regular old samples. Most of the 2GB are probably that. And they're not very good IMO. It's annoying they released a big update and didn't improve the huge weaknesses in MODO Drums:Ikaz7 wrote: Fri Feb 25, 2022 9:14 am 2 GB per drumkit? I thought this was based on physical modelling?
1. Cymbals have too few samples, sound too static
2. Ridiculous selection of "rooms" - needs more actual studios (Hint: Sunset and Fame)
3. Important features burried in GUI - clumsy workflow
I'd really recommend people look at something like Addictive Drums, SD3, or BFD3 if you want "real drums". As good as MODO Bass is, MODO Drums are a big swing and a miss IMO.

The VAT is down to your Government, not IK Multimedia. Presumably they are spending it on your country's citizens.manfex wrote: Fri Feb 25, 2022 1:56 pmYea, if only was it like that, $79 minus 30% jampoints equals $55, however, living in europe, the instead of $79 the price is 79€ for some reason, which is already $89, then you add VAT which makes it over $110, deduct your jampoints and you get $77. two dollar discount.emasters wrote: Fri Feb 25, 2022 4:57 amThis will give you the opportunity to upgrade to the 1.5 license for $79.00, which gives you the three new drum kits. But I have never quite understood why the $ and € prices are the same.

If you want straight numbers you do it like that...

I don't think so - VAT is added to the quoted € figure
So a US purchase at $199.99 would be €199.99 + 20% VAT here in the UK (that is about $270, with currency conversion fees on top).

Yes, it's one of my pet bugaboos about IK.
The other is updates for the sake of presenting locked gear to us.

HI
I have MODO DRUM SE since 09/21.
I saw an update added to the IK Product Manager. I updated.
Now all my KITs are gone (2 were - Studio, Jazzy.) Now there is none, no sound at all.
Even though I download Sounds again, I install it, the software doesn't see them.
How can I use the software again?

If something costs $100 at IK, it's also 100€, which is $112.5, then you take and add the 24% VAT on top of it, and it becomes $139.5. Even if the VAT is a government thing, the $100 price should be 88€ with the correct conversion rate.Tj Shredder wrote: Fri Feb 25, 2022 3:37 pm Basically the € prizes include VAT and the $ don't. Anyways, it would be best to the customers if the plugins cost the same for everyone, some developers have this, they just deduct the VAT from their own profits, and everybody's happy.
