I'm having to bounce everything to audio with this one. Buffer was at 2048 and cpu was still maxing out. Weirdly even after bouncing polyphonic parts and turning instances off in bitwig it was no better! Very sinister indeed! Maybe the remaining instances are folding@home!

I had no problems with Reaper ... but then I only used 22 instances of Synister plus the usual FX.
CPU is 8% + 6% RT = 14% overall, also as reported by task manager. 256 buffer. Master using 0.5%.

I think revisiting old stuff is a super useful thing. I was doing that this morning. Looking at my osc 137. I'm appalled at it actually. Ridiculously repetitive, too much reverb, etc. Hopefully being able to see what was wrong with a lot of my old stuff means my new stuff will be better.

This is my song for the contest.
It was very hard to do it because this synth is not particularly complex so the textures and the leads looks quite similar, probably i'm not a master of the synthesis but, hey, it's the beauty of this challenge.
Cubase 10 Pro.
1 Kick
1 Bass
2 Violins (1R + 1L)
1 Piano
2 Leads

How insane would it be, if I went for this as a submission, I wonder!

Beyond Molecular Clouds
DAW: Cubase Pro 11
Instances of Synister: 102
Cubase Effects: Autopan, Limiter, Monodelay, Monotostereo, Multiband Compressor, Multitap delay, Pingpong Delay, REVelation, RoomWorks, Squasher, Stepfilter, Stereodelay, VST Bass Amp, VST Multipanner
Free Effects:
Analog Obsession: britchannel, britpre, britpressor, sweetdrums
MELDA: mautopan, mcharmverb, mequalizer
TDR: Kotelnikov, Nova, SlickEQ
+ Chowtapemodel, ValhallaSupermassive, Polyverse Wider
One of the first patches I made sounded very close to a Wood Cricket (Nemobius sylvestris) but thanks to Synister's aliasing oscillators I managed to also get that typical South East Asian Tettigoniidae (Bush Crickets, Long-horned Grasshoppers, Katydids) type of sound.
I had plans to also add the sound of the Australian Black Field Cricket but ran out of CPU power.

Sorry for being such a gluttonous pig when it comes to OSC:
102 instances and 7 minutes of my style…
My sincere apologies for putting everybody through this!

The Jungle elements in this track are busier and more dramatic than the real Jungle and it is so dense that the genre ought to be called *Dumb & Base* - Nick ”cricket” Batt from Sonicstate.com
”Like that's fire! You kidding me? Like so easy…(listening)…”
- Unison Midi Chord Pack endorser dude #2 from Youtube ads.
”Good shit bro keep it up G00gle reálscpro”
- Albert Thompson (The Ted Mountainé Orchestra's Soundcloud BOT fan)
I'm pretty sure Albert would feel exactly the same about this entry.
”This song is truly a game changer! As soon as I heard it I decided to try something else on my NeoGeo AES” - Eikichi Kawasaki

That's completely wicked, Yadrichik! The voices... just amazing. The flutes in there, hehe, just wild. I'm quite sure, I wouldn't survive more than 2 minutes of it, but it's definitely amazing.

Hey, stop that, Yadrichik - Albert Thompson happens to be a golf buddy and a very good friend of Ted's!

Clearfication: Albert Thompson, who is a real person, usually goes to Dubai with Ted on his private jet to play golf at the Trump International Golf Club.

My very first time seeing the logotype for this place and it makes perfect sense, the hand is not even holding a golf club - but a spear…

Here is my short experimental entry.
Challenge with this synth are oscillators, that are kind of stable and usable in mid registers but high and low are very bad. Also filters on this thing are, well simply put weakest part of the synth.
https://soundcloud.com/trojakew/alchemist
FL Studio 20.6
12 instances of Synister
DAW FX's:
8x Fruity parametric EQ 2, 2x Maximus, 1x Fruity Multiband Compressor, 4x Fruity Limiter, 1x Fruity Peak Controller, 3xFruity Reeverb, 2xFruity Reeverb 2, 1xStereo Shaper
Other FX's:1x zOne ArxOne
