PSYN only ever came with Project 5 wasnt it?
Wait, no, also with a few versions of Sonar subsequent to that.
Its a 32-bit DXi synth though, not a VST; not sure if it'll run in much that exists these days, maybe not even Cakewalk.

PSYN was in Sonar until the end,
I have it running in Project5 on Win10 ==>
it's soo very cool, RGC Audio did it I think
IMO Bandlab could raise some of those, we're as plugin mad as ever

"Raising" them wouldn't solve the issue of the GUIs being [practically] unusable on HiDPI Displays (like the "Classic Creative" plug-ins they recently "raised"); and, frankly, anyone can get Vital and Surge XT for free. Both of those are under active development - by dedicated teams - and supersede much of those legacy synths from Cakewalk.nix808 wrote: Fri Feb 25, 2022 4:16 pm PSYN was in Sonar until the end,

I see no benefit in wasting development time "raising" something like PSYN. They're better off forgetting that stuff and focusing on developing the base DAW.
A bit part of why Cakewalk fell behind Cubase/DP/etc. is spreading themselves too thin and neglecting the flagship product.
I find it interesting that the people who have lived through that are asking them to repeat history. They simply don't have to capacity to do all of that. Something always has to give.

Is the only way to run that using Sonar?

Personally I never found PSYN to be anything special - in general and especially as compared to Pentagon and Square 1.
It sounded kinda thin and weak to me and I never managed to get a sound of it that I did't end up replacing with something else.

It came as a 64 bit DXi with some version of SONAR (P5 was only ever 32 bit, so it wasn't that) as I've got it available as a 64 bit DXi. It's OK and useful from time to time, but its GUI is a bit hard on the eyes (I think it's the font used for the text rather than anything else).

Nope. It works in Studio One 5 and Bitwig 4. I imagine it's fine pretty much anywhere. FWIW.

sorry mate,
I'm not going to do that
I hope you can get PSYN II from somewhere though.
I'm still taken with it's graphics and simplicity
