Why is there no modern, efficient, VSTi recorder ?

Hello,
I sample VST instruments to be able to play the sounds at the end with my Casio MZ-X hardware sampler / arranger as a standalone (without PC). Until now I used the well-known programs Highlife 1.4, Extreme Sample Converter and Direct Wave (VSTi version). Other alternatives, e.g. Sample Robot were too cumbersome for me to use and too slow when sampling. For several years I have been watching development of Bliss and then decided to buy a 1.8 license in November 2021.
I expected that after several years of development, the capabilities of the Highlife successor (Bliss) and the range of sampling functions has improved.
After the purchase, however, it turned out that Bliss V1.8 is not usable for sampling for Windows users (because of bugs).
In the technical data available on the homepage before purchase, the support of 32 and 64 bit VST plugins is indicated. This is nothing special nowadays. Programs such as Reaper have a plugin bridge built in and will load 32 bit, 64 bit and VST3 plugins.
Even though VST3 is the future, most plugins created over time are 32 bit and now many are 64 bit. This is due to the fact that in the years 1995-2010 there were still many developers.
Today, unfortunately, this is no longer the case.

So my goal was to buy a software that would make it easier for me to sample VST instruments. The strength of Highlife is the fast way of working, especially the super fast and fully automatic sample loop generation.
Unfortunately, sampling VST instruments using Bliss is complicated and time-consuming compared to Highlife.
This is not due to a lack of functionality, but because the functions needed to sample VSTI are not accessible in a user-friendly way.

After I made what felt like 1000 suggestions for improvements to make all the needed functions directly accessible in one window, George (the developer) said this arrangement was not compliant with Bliss (his point of view).
There is currently no other product that can automatically handle so many tasks, work fast and deliver good results.
So, if it is not Bliss compliant to put a VSTI recorder in a single window into Bliss, then perhaps it would be better to put this functionality in a separate VSTI recorder program.

The program only needs the VSTi host to load VSTi, the parameters that define the recording, the test playback of the recording result and the export in SFZ - format.
A standalone EXE file similar to Extreme Sample Converter would suffice.
The program could look like this:

The whole ballast with 1000 playback parameters is not needed for VSTi recording.
Such a program should be possible to create as a cut down version of Bliss with relatively little effort.
The program maintenance would also be much easier and it would not have to be compatible with all platforms.

Therefore the question, why is there no modern VSTi recorder ?

Merry christmas 2021 and stay healty.

Andreas

There is.. and it`s called Renoise. :)

Interestingly, the precursor to Bliss (HighLife), Renoise (NoiseTrekker) as well as IL's Directwave were coded by Juan Antonio Arguelles Rius (arguru). And they all have similar VST sampling capabilities.

Topic was moved to samplers forum, I think it's a more relevant place for discussing something like this.

The free Akai MPC Beat has a built in auto sampler
