2 screens on a modern 2022 PC ?

Hello KVR may I pick your hardware brains please ?

Planning a PC upgrade.

I currently use DVI and VGA video out from a PCIe video card to run 2 x old 17 inch monitors but the new motherboard has something called "HDMI" and "Displayport" which I have never used before.

The monitors (have to get new ones as old are ancient 17 inch VGA/DVI) have only HDMI connectors... have not decided on which yet but they all seem similar inputs

So my questions :

1) Do these available HDMI and Displayport on motherboard (1 of each) allow me to run 2 monitors and stretch the desktop/DAW in Windows 11 without a seperate video card ?

2) Will I need to get a Displayport to HDMI adapter lead to run 2 monitors with the desktop stretched. (most monitors have only HDMI)

yes that motherboard got a integrated graphics card, else it wouldn't have the outputs.

Dont use adapters for HDMI and DP, if you are on a budget I would get 2 screens with with both HDMI and DP, also take note that HDMI can only put out 60hz, for more you need DVI-D or DP. Thanks appreciated, it seem an obvious question but compatibility is not a guarantee when making a big update in PC land.

Just to be precise: the output of hdmi and dp both depend on the version of the port thats used. hdmi 2.1 can output 144hz on a 4k resolution screen.

No, the motherboard doesn't have an integrated graphics card. The integrated GPU is a feature of the CPU itself. That motherboard also supports CPU models that don't include one.
