Here, Here to your efforts, thanks so much for doing this, it's incredibly valuable.

One question for you - do you intend to add a given developer to the developer list even if they have no native plugins yet, sort of as a placeholder? Or is the idea that nothing is listed at all until there is at least one piece of software of theirs that's native? Joey Sturgis Tones is the developer I'm referring to (which I may be walking away from using anymore anyway, as their responses to Apple Silicon Support questions are vague and almost as if we're bothering them by asking).

I don't intend to add such placeholders, because there are a huge number of plugin developers, many of whom may never release updates. It would make the list unwieldy and less useful.

Makes sense. Thanks again.

I don't see that. Demo is the same. Not native.
Release notes say M1. Haven't double checked, but those are their first RNs to explicitly state M1 native.

Arturia product manager for Fragments just wrote this on GS
M1 compatibility for the whole FX Collection is about to come - like it's a matter of days from now... But shhh, I didn't say anything

Not only that! They included native VST2 versions. Very happy to see that.

Risky move. Steinberg will likely throw a fit and pressure them to remove these, just as it previously did with other developers. Don't depend on VST2 plugins for anything on Apple Silicon.
I hate signatures too.

Frankly, this whole thing is ripe for a lawsuit. No idea how that would work itself out, but I think the idea that a license to the SDK forbids you from releasing builds targeting new processor architectures which are released after the license is issued is sketchy at best.

I would be happy to see someone try to fight Steinberg over this. I seriously doubt that Arturia is prepared to attempt it. To my knowledge, many of their plugins are built in the VST3 SDK, with wrappers for other formats. Steinberg could unilaterally withdraw Arturia's VST3 license if they don't fall in line. Taking them to court would be suicide.

I think the best chance of getting positive results would be a class action lawsuit representing small developers who don't depend on VST2. However, I don't think that will be viable until Steinberg pulls the plug altogether in another couple of years.
I hate signatures too.

You have an example for such a move?
