Cubase 12 released

There are basically only 4 supported controllers by the Cubase 12 MIDI-Remote-Management: Arturia KeyLab Essential/MiniLab, Novation Launchkey, Akai MPK Mini, and Korg nanoControl. Were there no other controllers in Steinberg’s office? Unbelievable, there isn’t even support for their own CC121. Maybe someone will upload a script on this forum? Or will Steinberg deliver in Cubase 12.1?
I know it's probably easy to do it myself in the new editor, but why didn't Steinberg do it?

If you plan on purchasing your first Universal Audio hardware, you can get a free additional plugin. Just send a PM.

So when does everything else go to the new licensing system?
I have C12 working smoothly on my M1 mac but cannot use Halion 6 and libraries, Padshop 2 libraries, Backbone etc without the dongle…

wangeroge,
Thanks for the Cubase 12 manual link.
https://steinberg.help/cubase_pro/v12/e ... ual_en.pdf
The manual will help me decide to buy or not to buy.

We know Halion 7 is coming because of the Teaser dropped a few months ago, so it's likely they will pull the same thing they did with cubase...unfortunately.simmo75 wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 4:11 am So when does everything else go to the new licensing system?

What happens with all the third party Halion instruments that are dongle e-licenses. I guess we’ll see…

I thought to upgrade from 11 Pro, but I think I will wait a month or so to decide as I'm using Ableton Live more now!
Did they improved the performance in Cubase 12? Does the absent of e-licenser proved the performance?

Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Probably a reasonably worthwhile update for Pro users, but not so much for Artist. I think I'll wait until 13. At $212 there just isn't enough to make it attractive. And I'll let all the beta testers in this thread go through the headache of all the teething problems and the pain involved with the new licensing - which I'm sure will be multifarious. And I'm in no rush to get Win11 so I can happily wait for another year. I toyed with the idea of Pro on a student price (oldest f**king student on the campus possibly
), but that's still over $500 and TBH I just don't use it enough to warrant Pro.
Those 2 new sampler instruments for Halion looked interesting - what are they? (Or were they there in 11 already)

WOOOAH!
"Due to technical reasons the following plug-ins and technologies have been removed from the product scope
VST instruments: Mystic, Prologue, Specter, LoopMash are no longer included in the factory content of Cubase."
I don't give a shit about Mystic or Specter - both crap IMO, but Loopmash?
One of the main reason that I went for Cubase rather than others a couple of years back. It's gold.
Definitely not upgrading then - I'll happily stay on 10.5 for several years. Bastards.

Looks like Cubase 12 will not lure me away for Studio One 5.
The few issues that kept me away from Cubase previously have not been addressed.
So will see if FL Studio 21 or Mulab 9 will be successful and lure me away.
Both will have a major make-over.

user presets are now located in a user folder in Documents. (on Mac)Giova942 wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 2:26 am Logical presets are missing in my Cubase Elements 12.
Anyone else found this issue?
See the manual for details. And although the manual says the proces is automatic, you have to move them by hand yourself.

Keilworth has suggested it will get updated. But no ETA as yet.4damind wrote: Wed Mar 02, 2022 8:43 pm Does anyone know what, for example, Vengeance is doing after eLicenser has been discontinued? According to Steinberg, it will still take a while until the licence servers are switched off (~18 months) but the end of eLicenser has been decided.

Yes, Andre Keilwerth just replied that they are already working on a non-eLicenser version.
Maybe there are not so many plugins that use eLicenser? I still have on Eiosis AirEQ which also uses eLicenser (but I don't use the EQ anymore^^).

I have another License on there, but I dont think I use the VST very often, so wont worry if it breaks. VSL free stuff.
I have loads of the Vengeance plugins, so hoping they get updated, but tbh the GUI resizing is awful and some don't even have it yet.
I will be going Cubase 12 ASAP, i'm fking skint atm lol

I didn't even notice they removed 4 entire plugins, WOW.
And I honestly still liked those 3 old Synths, they had their uses...
at least we get a Limiter and Cablegu-erm I mean "Fx Modulator" in its place.
