I received a random email this morning from accusonus with one of my serials in there, and when I try and visit the site it appears to be down. Has anyone else received any strange email from them today?

Looks like it could be a DDoS attack.
"Our servers are down due to excessive traffic!
We're aware of the issue and are working on it urgently".
I would refrain from opening their e-mails for the time being until there is more information.

The site is down. You can get to the login page, but cannot log in. Could just be maintenance for a new site/transfer.

Here the message has changed from "Our servers are down due to excessive traffic!" to "We are doing a scheduled maintenance to our servers!".

This what I read about DDos attacks is that happens to be what it is.Teksonik wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 12:45 pm Looks like it could be a DDoS attack.

"DDoS attacks cannot steal website visitors information. The sole purpose of a DDoS attack is to overload the website resources. However, DDoS attacks can be used as a way of extortion and blackmailing. For example, website owners can be asked to pay a ransom for attackers to stop a DDoS attack." Sounds like if it is that kind of attack, it would be aimed at the website owners not visitors of the website."

yeah, I bought a couple of their plugins quite a few years ago but never use anymore. They sent 3 serial numbers to my inbox too.LeVzi wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 3:45 pm I didn't even know I owned a plugin of theirs...
Or I just forgot.

Maybe as Facebook acquired them, they are making sure their users get their registration codes before changing up their business and moving on to other things..?

Yes I am aware of what DDoS attacks are and I never said customer information was compromised but if people are suddenly getting emails they did not receive in the past I would still urge caution at least until they hear from Accusonus as to what really happened.dblock wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 3:32 pmThis what I read about DDos attacks is that happens to be what it is.Teksonik wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 12:45 pm Looks like it could be a DDoS attack.

The main address still shows "we are doing a scheduled maintenance to our servers" although the log-in page is available. I'm going to wait until things clear up a bit before trying to log in if for no other reason than an abundance of caution.
