fx is going to be pedals i think for a bit been neglecting that
still very tempted by tip top buchla though...
What are you using to integrate your peddles with your eurorack?vurt wrote: Fri Mar 04, 2022 8:21 pm does look fun, think im done for fx in the rack now though, sound sources or utility stuff for the last hps i think.

Yes, I've heard/seen comments about the distortion (in contrast to 'saturation') on input one, when set high.elxsound wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 4:21 pmThank you! That’s what I figured.justin3am wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 4:10 pm Do you mean the preamp on the 2600 or the VCA? The Amplifier on Defibrillator is just a VCA but if I remember right, Input 1 can distort when you turn it all the way up. It's been a long time since I used one.
I was asking about the preamp on the Defibrillator and was hoping it was like the preamp on the 2600.
Amplifier CV Level Slider
When the VCA Mode switch is set to CV,
then this slider attenuates the CV signal fed into
the VCA-CV socket.
The CV then controls the amplifier level.
When the VCA Mode switch is set to THRU, then
this slider provides a voltage from 0 to 12V.
This voltage then controls the amplifier level
No, not a lack of caffeination… it’s likely accidentally ambiguous. The Thru mode should add gain but it’s not 100% clear to me either (but I’m alway caffeine free).Shabdahbriah wrote: Fri Mar 04, 2022 8:49 pmYes, I've heard/seen comments about the distortion (in contrast to 'saturation') on input one, when set high.elxsound wrote: Thu Mar 03, 2022 4:21 pmThank you! I got curious as the manual indicates that the CV slider controls the VCA in a manner I found somewhat unclear (could be lack of caffeination) , as stated thus:

It’s funny because your fav JHS had a guest led video about using modular for guitar effects processing instead of pedals.vurt wrote: Fri Mar 04, 2022 8:21 pm does look fun, think im done for fx in the rack now though, sound sources or utility stuff for the last hps i think.

Yeah, the distortion occurs on VCF channel one, when it is turned up. Regarding the 'thru' mode, given that typical professional line level (a.k.a. +4dBu) is around 1.75V peak to peak, the Amplifier CV Level Slider goes considerably higher, which implies (to me) that it does in fact amplify. We'll see.elxsound wrote: Fri Mar 04, 2022 10:10 pmNo, not a lack of caffeination… it’s likely accidentally ambiguous. Justin3am did say it gets distorted when pushed so it seems likely!?!
pfft, i got in to modular precisely for that reason, extra hands tweaking knobs while i play. i only got interested in the oscillators afterwardselxsound wrote: Fri Mar 04, 2022 10:21 pmIt’s funny because your fav JHS had a guest led video about using modular for guitar effects processing instead of pedals.vurt wrote: Fri Mar 04, 2022 8:21 pm does look fun, think im done for fx in the rack now though, sound sources or utility stuff for the last hps i think.
