guys, i dont get smartcomp yet to work, i use normally FL Limiter in comp mode and sidechain and hear the changes while dialing asap. in smartcomp it seems nothing really impacts it i think i set it up wrong?
i activate sidechain in smartcomp and put it in the channel e.g. Bass where the KICK is sidechaining to it.
does anyone tested smartcomp in fl studio as sidechain right?

Easy, just took less than a minute to setup...
- Place SmartComp on the Bass channel
- Select the Kick channel in the mixer
- With the Kick channel selected, Right-click the little 'up arrow' send button on the Bass channel
- Choose "Sidechain to this track"
- Open SmartComp (on the bass channel)
- Goto VST settings / Processing / Right-click "2. Sidechain L / Sidechain R" and select the Kick as sidechain input
- Goto SmartComp GUI and increase Ratio + lower Threshold until action starts happening
- Tweak as you like

Note: It's the right-click on the Sidechain input in VST settings that was the kicker for me. Such a huge "ah-ha!" moment. Once I knew that everything fell into place with sidechaining in FL.

If you're still having trouble let me know, I'll make a video if I can.

Fair comment!kritikon wrote: Sun Mar 06, 2022 1:00 am It doesn't sound very smart if it can't set itself up. Probably should rename it dumbcomp.

Awesome thx a lot!!!!
i need to test this with Trackspacer and Fruity Limiter to see how much CPU each uses and what are the best results out of these 3.
