AAS stuff is just ok for me. I dont use it very much anymore.

I bought that expressive e plugin and big regret.

this thread learned me about Plasmonic though, which is a plus.

Plasmonic is fantastic... you can spend hours playing with a single preset!

Plasmonic and Kaivo are both very fun for half organic/ half synth type sounds (they are also both very fun to play with MPE). I would look into something like reaktor for more specific physical models of actual stuff. There is also the Korg prophecy which was recently made into a plugin and lots and lots of plugins have tunable delays that make for easy karplus strong sounds.

Oh. AAS chromaphone is pretty cool as well. It's just not especially flexible in my opinion (takes lots of time to get it to make it do much besides simple percussion sounds). It's pretty fun for weird drums and bells though.

Maybe he was actually referring to Audio Modeling, with their SWAM engine.

They were supposed to come out with extended woodwinds - ie contrabass clarinet. It's great to see them working feverishly to get instruments out there. I'd buy their woodwinds once they get these added.

even tho opinions are diverged on this topic there is (or at least was a couple days ago) a sale on the expressive e vsts.

I didn't pick up chroma phone in die end, I still have too much other stuff to try, I have also been it is currently not in stock at pb anymore -- maybe they shift to sell only from their own site or sth. But AAS seems to be very widely lauded, in other forums I only heard good things as well.

M-theory by Ugo Audio is a free synth, sort of hybrid physical modeling one. Quite intersting. Another of my remendations is Respiro Wind-Synth by Imoxplus.

Right now I have Chromaphone set up for acoustic bass and Prism for orchestral strings on a project. As much as I love modern romplers, I doubt that any could sound that good compared to modern PM.

Soh we’ve nao got preparation by physical audio and the fan one … derailer .. ended up buying akoustik from here .. sampleson thing .. idiosyncratic and capable ov a wide range ov timbres .. i like to load take various Instances ov these in drum rack pads and shape each sound by repeating midi note on whichever pad the focus is on … auto select is the enemy for this… especially on a push , which I’ve had nabbed from me but remember when aye

realized that aye

could focus on one drum sound eithoyt having to grumble every time u accidentally hit another pad while turning a knob
