FYI - this has been in UAD form for ages. Not really a fan TBH - best Vocoder I have is Arturia's, a real hidden gem.

The audio demos aren’t enticing.

Post

cheap enough on intro but seems a bit limited with the inbuilt synth the only option for carrier

Post

Judging by the not very informative video... Meh!!! XILS 5000 is still my favorite vocoder.

Post

no input for external carrier? :( :( :uhuhuh: :uhuhuh:

Post

I would have thought that building in the carrier was a good idea. Why isn't it?

I don't have anything against it being integral but it would be a stronger product, IMO, if it could also do it with an arbitrary external signal.

Post

im glad it doesnt have an external input for carrier, i had gas but dont feel the need to buy it now i know that

I still don't understand why. It seems like this simplifies the set-up quite a bit and you can just copy/paste MIDI so you wouldn't have to sequence it separately. Win-win, surely?

(because there are many vocoders that give the option to allow input for the carrier AND modulator...which has nothing to do with the midi or midi sequencing at all.)

Post

Maybe I misunderstand it, I will demo it thoroughly tomorrow and see if it can do what I am after.

Post

I would probably have bought a modelled version of the Doepfer vocoder components for Modular. But not this; the fairly limited spec (no external input, no cross-routing, no custom band frequencies) just puts it on, or below, par versus stuff I already have.
An idiot on Set Theory:

I have no idea what you are trying to say. None at all. How are you going to get any note information from one instrument to another without MIDI?

It seems you don't have a clue how a vocoder works...
