The guys that designed and built the m processor for apple left apple this week. One went to intel, the other to microsoft. Get ready to buy new intel macs. :borg:

Wasn't NEW Coke back in the 80s made by former Pepsi folks that went to Coke ?

Post

That's the very rare like and response from myself. congrats.

seeing as they already have the next gen planned and in fab, I bet you get (just shooting from the hip here) 2 more gens of the M before they introduce the new shiny.

Post

Introduce the new shiny ? What ? Lol hahahha .. I've been an Apple hater since they started soldering ram and ssd to mobos and hot gluing stuff shut encased in glass . They are New Coke .

Post

I hate everyone equally. I'm not bias.

I buy there products for family members of mine , then I have to show them how to use them , hook it up to wifi , and then I have to help them somehow remember there Apple ID and Passwords . Man I wish I could get some winning lotto numbers .. Lol , I've changed iPhone batteries out , bought new icords and icables . Lol it's a blast. Hate is such a bad word . I shoulda chose a different word or phrase .

The main person that made the M chips reality is Johny Srouji. He’s not leaving Apple so nothing really changes

Post

well, Mike Filippo and Jeff Wilcox left.

Post

I'm giving it 2 gens in a bad situation. I'll go as high as 4 gens. I would have gone 5 gens in the past. Things are happening too fast these days. I'll go 4 on the over under. Not more.

In the end they role was to make mainly architecure stuff for ARM CPUs, and as we can see the job is done. So I suppose we can even benefit if Intel will create alternative ARM chips

This article states that Apple's leadership with the M1 his highly linked to their partnership with TSMC. I take this to mean that poaching a few engineers, even top engineers, isn't going to change fortunes overnight.

That's what I consider good news. Although both don't really need them to produce good hardware.

good news for power requirements for the new intel chip. m1 though, fantastic idea; but the mac mini I have is useless for anything but business. It can't even handle a logitech c920 without stuttering. But, for business it's ok; but really slow loading for everything. They have the right idea for power requirements, and their false advertising and the fake testimonies of thousands swearing by speed that can't match a 2013 processor and a 2016 mobo was very convincing, but it was a phone's processor made into a cpu.

The right idea, power requirements like that frankly make anything possible for the m2 or m3. wip.

114 Billion transistors. They are certainly throwing the kitchen sink at this platform.

i was surprised they actually mentioned audio work in their presentation of the new studio. that was a first. most of their adverts and shills only mention video work of which processing is hardly 'real time' demand.
