Haven't watched the full presentation, but are the clock speeds really boosted?dellboy wrote: Wed Mar 09, 2022 10:47 amI watched the presentation live and was surprised that they made such a big deal about the fans. It seems that boosting the clock speed of Apple silicon increases the heat substantially much the same as it does in x86-64 architecture. A good solution though.FapFilter wrote: Wed Mar 09, 2022 9:55 am The Studios aren't totally silent though.
IIRC, in the presentation yesterday, they were said to be “very quiet in most cases“
But of course i agree with noise level being a huge factor.
Nothing is stopping you from building a “silent“ PC either though.
But hey, the insanely huge fans inside them surely are there for some reason
Single core performance still seems to be exactly the same as in the MBA from 2020.
The big boost in performance (and rising heat issues) solely seem to come from more cores running in parallel.
