That's it!
I've done it!

I've placed my SS2 upgrade order with the $99 ST2 engine upgrade.

WOO-f**king-HOO!!!!! :D

For some reason I feel like a million bucks now.
So anyone care to give it to me? :hihi:

I'm so excited I could pee!

The most massive drum offer ever, SS2, ST2 engine and a holiday capsule, ePointz refund from the drum group buy to go towards Symphony Strings Expansion Tank which I may purchase earlier or later depending on how much of a discount I end up with. And of course, I've still got the SS1 soundsets sitting around happily.

Now I'll have to decide about the Guitar 3-pack and the XL sound upgrade and then wait (somewhat impatiently) for the Brass capsule/expansion tank that Squids drops into his posts every once in a while. I'm sure it's quite a long way away - but those hints are killing me.

You're taking good advantage of what esoundz is there for. It is for the person who wants a lot of sounds and related software to fuel their music making with a "gets better and better" approach the more "into it" you get. So, as opposed to a "lowest price on the net" shopping kind of thing that a lot of the larger stores do, this is for the person who wants to get deeper into customizing your collection and as you do you get rewarded. In the long run you can save more money between upgrades/crossgrades/epointz/membership discounts/free shipping etc. You have to see the bigger picture or you can miss that.

But, I think a lot of people just keep picking up products they like and then start to realize "Hey, this is getting good for me!". Some people are more strategic about it and rack up epointz and make sure their order is always over $199 so they get the free international shipping and whatever other offers are going on at the time.

Of course, after just playing with SS2 on the plane (that was cool btw) you SHOULD be excited. It has so many great sounds at least to my ears. I think some people are really going to be surprised at what is really in there, especially with regard to vintage instruments.

Is an XL sounds-only upgrade still available? I couldn't find it on the esoundz site.

I'm still debating whether to get the engine now or wait a while and get the full XL upgrade from LE later.

Squids, I already bought SS 2, and want to get the ST XL, let us know how to do this, because I definately want to do it.

Yeah - this is why I always said quality wasn't the issue. I knew I wanted to buy, but with products at eSoundz it's not whether or not you're going to buy it - but how you're going to buy it.

I was just lucky that I happened to want to upgrade all my sonic arsenal just at the right time when there were some truly magnificent deals going. For me this happened to be one of the best run of bargains I've seen in any product ever! Thankfully, I was in a buying mood to take advantage of it. :D

I really like the upgrade/crossgrade aspect of esoundz. It's nice to be offered a discount on ST2 XL because I already own OmniSynth. And then I'll have a discount on SS2 for already owning ST2.

This is one of the main reasons I decided on Sonic Reality and IK Multimedia products for my music-making needs. Upgrades rule.

What is the upgrade price for SS1/ST2 users again? I intentionally misplaced the email in an attempt to keep out of the red for while

$199. Too good to be true, actually.

Yes very true. But still out of my budget until next summer at the earliest. Monitors first.

I recall Squids saying that this price is just until thr end of the year. I agree that monitors are more important than sounds, even SR sounds (but not Dangerous Bear sounds, of course  ), but monitors will be here next year and SS2 for $199 won't. Food for thought...

Yes Gordon - $199 upgrade is a very limited offer.
I believe the upgrade price in the new year will be substantially higher. In fact, I can't even remember if there will continue to be an upgrade price.

I think the cross-grade from ST2 XL may continue to be $199 on a semi-permanent basis - just not the upgrade.

Of course - all of these things tend to be rather malleable and I realise that I'm quoting prices when I probably shouldn't.

Summary - upgrade price from SS1 to SS2 is very low for a limited time only (until end of year). In the new year you can expect to pay substantially more for SS2 if you are an SS1 owner. If you happen to be an ST2XL owner there may continue to be very reasonable cross-grade pricing available in the new year.

In all cases check with your friendly neighbourhood Squids or with eSoundz direct.

It's too bad. I still haven't manged to do the $179 upgrade to Sonar 4 PE. I need to be disciplined if I am to afford Monitors in the next six months. More synth sounds I actually would like but they are not essential right now. Maybe Studiophonik will be doable when it comes out.

Actually, Gordon, you are all set because you are both a Sonic Synth 1 owner AND a Sonic Station owner. There's a special upgrade for Sonic Station owners because we're dropping ST2 and Reason support in Sonic Station 2 (which is coming next year). Here's how that works:

Sonic Station owners that don't also have Sonic Synth 1 qualify for the $199. upgrade and that offer doesn't expire at the end of the year (for a variety of reasons, but one of them being that Sonic Station was an esoundz exclusive product so everyone who bought it is known by us and thus "registered" automatically... this is not the case with Sonic Synth 1 which was sold all over the world).

Sonic Station owners that also own Sonic Synth 1 too qualify for an even lower upgrade offer than that actually (the ONLY people that do because this is a special consideration for us changing format support which is something we rarely do.). This will be a limited time offer. But, it will extend into next year.

Sonic Station owners that use Reason can get Sonic Refill cross-grade for free (plus the Film Orch refill) or if they mainly use SampleTank 2 and don't want to have to spend anything for an upgrade they can get a final "already output" ST2 version of Sonic Station on DVDr. This is because unlike Sonik Capsules, Sonic Station is not as well suited to be a UFO product (too many different types of sounds more suited for aiff/wave re-referencing). That's why we'll be dropping the UFO on Sonic Station 2 and it will support only the AIFF/WAV reference samplers. Ironically, Sonic Station's most popular purpose is to give OTHER samplers a little taste of the sort of workstation sounds we do for ST2 and Reason. So, for people who want a mix of Sonic Refill range meets Sonik Synth all in their Kontakt, Halion, EXS, Mach 5 (and possibly Emulator X and other formats), then Sonic Station 2 will be just what they needed. There will still be cross-grade discounts for anyone who has both ST2 and these other formats (or Reason and these other formats).

And I wouldn't be surprised if you got a further discount again on a Friday because Squids had decided to celebrate the end of the working week.

Squids - I just can't keep track of your discounts - particularly to previous supporters of your products.

I'm beginning to think if I'm a customer long enough eventually I won't even have to pay any more of your products.

I can imagine it now - if you bought SS1, SS2, SonicStation and Studiophonik we've decided to give you the rest of our catalogue for free as a thankyou.

Well - before you thank me for giving me a discount let me thank you for valuing the customers you have now and the customers you will have tomorrow.

Ok...here's a question.

I bought ST2XL at Guitar Center. I'd like to get the sounds upgrade for SS2. I can prove that I bought it with my receipt to esoundz...

but here's the rub...

wife is asking for Christmas list and I'd like to be able to put this on there. What's the easy way for me to be able to tell her she can just order it and HER not have to worry about not getting the upgrade price?

Please assist.
Thanks,
Blades
