DAW: Ableton Live 11 Suite
Effects:
- Slight compression and EQ on most tracks (Ableton's built in Compressor and Channel EQ)
- Ableton's Drum Bus on the kick instance of the synth
- Abelton's LFO on about 4 instances of the synth, used to modulate various parameters (I enjoyed rapidly switching through the wave types)
- Two of Abelton's reverbs set as their own return tracks (two natural room settings, nothing crazy; just to gel the mix)
- Ableton's Master EQ & Glue effect rack + FabFilter Limiter on the master output
A total of 17 instances of FB-7999

Is this your new account, Yadrichik?
I'm kidding!) Pretty cool music, chaotic but consistent! And as if there are microtonal settings in places, or is it just seems? Great sound and spatial design, these sounds are in such unexpected places, as if I'm listening not with headphones!

Hey IV! Yeah, recorded music definitely changes the sound of the instrument. Just like a photograph flattens reality. I like them both though. But it would sound strange to hear recorded music for the first time to people used to only live music. I guess it takes time for the ear to adjust. I'm probably getting too hung up on what is the true essence of something, when I quite enjoy the creative potentials of what you can do to recorded audio or even calculated waveforms. Forget what I said about what is right and proper. Be free!IV! wrote: Sun Mar 06, 2022 3:41 pmThis is a real problem of progress, but in fact one of many! If you watched the movie "The Legend of 1900", there the pianist reasoned something like this: "While music is being played, it lives. When it is recorded, it dies.", and this is also about analog recording!) That is, everyone has their own "red line". But in essence, recording and playing music is intended to convey the emotions and feelings of one person to others, and as long as there is at least one musician whose recordings inspire you, you can feel it. And if you can feel it, then you can convey it! The choice of tools for this is entirely up to you!)Aro wrote: Fri Mar 04, 2022 11:33 pm And also I'm just playing with ideas, but I'm not sure they're all cohesive. When I start thinking about how most recorded music is just ones and zeros, and not actual violins, then everything falls flat. Just putting some thoughts out there.

I remember a story about native tribes in Africa being shown a photograph for the first time (in the early 1900's), and they had no idea what it was and did not recognise people or faces. Very odd , given that art (eg cave art, skin painting etc) has been around since we have!

Here is my contribution. It's a simple country ditty with a twist. Title is inspired by Westworld TV-series about cowboy robots. Daw is Bitwig and there is basic Bitwig reverb and amp on many tracks. Arrangement is quite simple with less than ten tracks in all. Please enjoy!

Hi Björn,Full Bucket wrote:[...Just pinging...]
is there a way to set a default path for loading/saving patches and banks? When use the respective menu item, Fb-7999 opens the documents folder (not even a FB dedicated sub folder therof). But I like to keep my patches and banks in the same folder as the plugin files. I know there's an ini-file, but I can't see where and how (syntax-wise) I would put it in there. When I set a startup bank, I kind of expected, it would use that location as a default, but it doesn't.
About a third of your synths (Bloo, Deputy, Kern, Qyooo, Ragnaröck, Scroo, SequenAir) default to the plug in directory, the rest defaults to the documents folder.
Is there anything, that can be done about it?
Thanks,
Sebastian

Hi all,
Going to be busy for a few weeks so won't be able to work on track for a while, here's my submission for this month. Lovely sounding emulation Bjorn, really impressed. Only issues i found were - what happens to the noise oscillator when you turn on the effect (kind of goes all nasty) and the limitation of using automation on the filter and pitch bend which were kind of quantised. But using the AT - VCF and AT-OSC was really nice so there was that as a workaround.
Hope you enjoy! Will update details later

Hi folks,
if you have issues with my plugs: Please send me a mail!
I know this is old school (well, so am I) but it is impossible for me to scan all forums, online comments etc. for potential bug/issue reports.
Cheers, Björn

Not yet. I will add this to my backlog.SeBaer wrote: Wed Mar 09, 2022 7:58 pm is there a way to set a default path for loading/saving patches and banks?
As I am going along with porting from iPlug to iPlug2 the new/updated plug-ins hopefully default to the Documents folder. The older ones still point to the app folder which is dangerous on the Mac...About a third of your synths (Bloo, Deputy, Kern, Qyooo, Ragnaröck, Scroo, SequenAir) default to the plug in directory, the rest defaults to the documents folder.

Yes, like the original...and the limitation of using automation on the filter and pitch bend which were kind of quantised.

Wouldn't it then be better, if each plugin had a dedicated subfolder in the Documents folder to put its patches in?About a third of your synths (Bloo, Deputy, Kern, Qyooo, Ragnaröck, Scroo, SequenAir) default to the plug in directory, the rest defaults to the documents folder. As I am going along with porting from iPlug to iPlug2 the new/updated plug-ins hopefully default to the Documents folder. I would let the user add such a folder herself/himself. But I will never let it be done automagically. I really hate it if software is messing around with my Documents folder.

... and yet SO MANY do! Just checked, there's 30 folders in there made by the VST installers!!Full Bucket wrote: Thu Mar 10, 2022 4:55 pm I really hate it if software is messing around with my Documents folder.![]()
If your installers could ask where to put the presets files, as per the 32-bit and 64-bit vst's that would be wonderful. I know you have no control over where the vst3 goes!
Thanks again for your great synths. Not sure whether to submit a funky style or a BritPop thing. I have both sort of ready to be polished up!
