Buggy attackphase (or releasephase?)!
Take an 808 kick, which is not too short. Make a pretty standart drumbreak with some 16th notes followed by others. The attack of the later note is now clicky. There´s no zerophase option - in oneshot mode and adsr mode. Tried same drums in Bitwigs drummachine with no issues.
The whitenoise in demomode is super annoying and kills serious ambitions to investigate deeper this nice plugin.

Interesting drum sampler. Haven't found a way to map velocity to Amp Attack yet, though. Anyone?

Yes I have the same issuebite_me wrote: Thu Mar 10, 2022 10:37 pm Buggy attackphase (or releasephase?)!

@ gentleclockdivider
The second drum doesn´t mute the first drum properly.
I tried my best to make them sound right with amp env and filter env. No chance.
When using an 808 kick it´s most audible, cause there´s not much high frequency information.
Win10 VST2, Bitwig 4.1

Doesn't exist (for now at least to say), however here's an approach:fladd wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 12:32 am Interesting drum sampler. Haven't found a way to map velocity to Amp Attack yet, though. Anyone?
It is possible to module sample start which has a long (slow) attack. Depends on what you need after all for sure.

so modulating sample start is easy? Lets say the use case for hi hats - random and fast variations in sample start - easy as well?phreaque wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 2:28 pmDoesn't exist (for now at least to say), however here's an approach:fladd wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 12:32 am Interesting drum sampler. I really like to modulate sample start/attack and decay. Is this all easy to do inside the machine or do I need to throw an Ableton LFO on the knobs..etc?

tried it, too slow for my workflow i guess. not a bad plugin though

For that you can assign different sample maps (zones) each of which might be the same sample with different env settings or different samples and then trigger them in cyclic round robin style or by responding to velocity ranges.stash98 wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 5:45 pm so modulating sample start is easy? Simple, it is there in the mod matrix section after all, you can easily see & identify all modulation source & target entries, however it lacks the trendy drag 'n drop style of linking stuffIs this all easy to do inside the machine or do I need to throw an Ableton LFO on the knobs..etc?

When sampling into the plugin, at first I thought I would not use that feature, but hang on. Lets say I have a drum machine and sample into the plugin one sound at a time. So I have a 4 bar kick pattern for example. Once sampled in can I chop those kicks in the plugin and then make them play in round robin? If so that is indeed a game changer for me since I have some analogue drum machines.

That's pretty much the main use case of round robin in a sampler, especially for lively instruments such as acoustic drum kit, you can stack up-to 4 sample slots or maps (at least for now again) where each slot has a sample variation.

Right but can you record into the drum sampler and chop the hits in there? So if I had a 4 bar loop of kicks recorded into the TAL sampler, could I chop that up and assign them to slots all inside the plugin? That would make things super easy. It is sounding like the answer is yes, but I wanted to make sure.phreaque wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 7:41 pm That's pretty much the main use case of round robin in a sampler, especially for lively instruments such as acoustic drum kit, you can stack up-to 4 sample slots or maps (at least for now again) where each slot has a sample variation.
If not I'd be recording the loop into Ableton, chopping there, then exporting to a folder, then pulling the samples from that folder into TAL. A little more convoluted.
In the demo video it looks like he is recording and it captures just one hit. So I guess in that case I would record the loop into Ableton, then drag the loop into the sampler and chop and then hopefully be able to use those chops on just 1 pad in round robin.
If that is the case, this definitely is something I can use for sure.

Ah, pity. Yeah, usually you want to modulate both sample start and attack with velocity for a more realistic drum sound.phreaque wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 2:28 pmDoesn't exist (for now at least to say), however here's an approach:fladd wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 12:32 am Interesting drum sampler.
