Hey all,

Just getting familiar with East West Silk library using the PLAY engine...

Something I'm immediately having trouble with is the ability to load more than one instrument at a time... I'm more used to Kontakt, so am a bit surprised, once I have one instrument loaded, I can't just drag another instrument into the instruments rack. In fact I really can't see a way to do it at all!

But it must be possible, otherwise why the empty space in the rack... and why the extra tracks in the the mixer?

Can anyone help me out here? Cheers :)

oh <<expletive>>...

there I go again asking dumb questions just before discovering how to do it by myself...

there's a handy little button that says "add".

Great :)

I'm not familiar with the Play engine, but I do use the new "Opus" engine, which I would also recommend to you. Apparently it's better than the play engine as it's their new and update engine (I have never used play before but have heard a lot about it and how unoptimized it is to use). In the Opus engine you can load multiple instruments at the same time and set multiple outputs as well. Just right click on the instrument and click on add instrument or simply drag it to the loaded instruments tab on the left side and it will load up.

Oops, I just read that you have already figured it out lol. Anyways, I'd still recommend you to try the Opus version.

Isn't the Opus engine just available for users who bought an Opus product? I was still under the impression that there is no simple upgrade path for Play users (I own multiple products of theirs, and I would be more than interested to find out how to got them to Opus...).

I believe they are allowing you to get Opus for new purchases going forward. I purchased Silk a few weeks ago and was able to get the Opus player.

From their FAQ:
Currently you must purchase Hollywood Orchestra Opus Edition to get the OPUS software. People who purchase any other EastWest product post-release will also get OPUS. All ComposerCloud members will automatically get OPUS. But we are going to wait a while before allowing previous PLAY product purchasers to upgrade in order to assist our support team during this major upgrade period. When we do provide that option, it will be a paid upgrade.

Oh, my bad, I'm on the subscription, so didn't realize it wasn't a free update.
