There is a new store in Montreal dedicated to computer desktop musicians opening on Monday, Dec. 6.

FUTURMUSIK

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully they'll have stuff that normally ships from out of country, make it easier ordering from a Canadian source.

Isn't Moog Audio in Montreal kind of aimed a bit at desktop musicians? The one here in Toronto tends to be more DJ stuff, with a bit of computer music gear thrown in, but I thought the Montreal store was supposed to be bigger on this side.

I know little more than what I posted. I heard of this from a colleague of mine here at work who knows the owner of FUTURMUSIK.

I am looking forward to checking it out. There is to be a opening reception Monday evening I'm told.

That'll be worth checking out. Montreal is definitely lacking in the music software line, store-wise.

Yup! Last year I drove from Montreal to Lake Placid with my friends. We stopped in Plattsburgh for some food. When I asked the cute girl at Burger King if there was a Starbucks in town, she said "What's 'Starbucks'?"

Montreal is only about an hour fifteen from here, so if the shop's good and has good deals, it'll make for a good bi-annual shopping trip.

If they can ship over to Ottawa, all the better. We have only one shop dedicated to the computer musician, and the prices seem a bit high.
