An attempt (at times unsuccessful) to verbalize my opinion about sample players and virtual instruments. Some of my videos intend to satire and criticize, but never to personally offend anybody. Reading between the lines can help us make better decisions and investments.

This is rather clickbait-y. Why not outline your ideas in the post so people know whether the video is worth their time?Stukas Audio wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 12:06 pm An attempt (at times unsuccessful) to verbalize my opinion about sample players and virtual instruments. I haven't watched the video, and I assume English isn't your first language, but a note on the title: you can't have a "best truth" - something is either true or not.

In classical logic that is true but is not necessarily true in a natural language like EnglishMr Arkadin wrote: Sun Mar 13, 2022 12:21 pm I haven't watched the video, and I assume English isn't your first language, but a note on the title: you can't have a "best truth" - something is either true or not.

Thank you for the note. Although English is not my mother tongue, the title was an attempt to take the piss out of Christian Henson's titles. (i.e. The best, most, rarest, amazing ever sample in the world ever." etc). I, therefore, refrained from proper grammar use. But I do thank you for the note.Mr Arkadin wrote: Sun Mar 13, 2022 12:21 pm I haven't watched the video, and I assume English isn't your first language, but a note on the title: you can't have a "best truth" - something is either true or not.

Ah, the excitement and surprise of what one finds within might be better for the people.imrae wrote: Sat Mar 12, 2022 11:51 amThis is rather clickbait-y. Had I outlined my ideas in the post, I might as well have written an article and refrained from producing a video. As for clickbait, I think the outline I gave, and the title, were fulfilled in the video. No? Nowadays, everything seems to be clickbaity.

A picture is worth a thousand words. And there were about 15 mins of 23.975 pictures per second in the video. I didn't want people to waste their time reading all that. I, therefore, opted for a video.enroe wrote: Sat Mar 12, 2022 9:13 amWell, if you had already verbalized your opinion, why don't you justStukas Audio wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 12:06 pm An attempt (at times unsuccessful) to verbalize my opinion about sample players and virtual instruments.

Thank you for the support. After the grammar lesson and the criticism on the logic of producing a video instead of writing out my ideas, I was about to give up. LOL But no. Because of people like you that enjoy and perhaps find some value in my videos, I will continue. Thank you!!Maxwell Houser wrote: Sun Mar 13, 2022 2:21 amYour videos really are great, please keep going!Stukas Audio wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 12:06 pm An attempt (at times unsuccessful) to verbalize my opinion about sample players and virtual instruments. With a video, you force the user to submit to your time dictation.
He must follow the words in time and order. He cannot fast-forward
without fearing that he has missed an important point. Videos force
your style directly on the user.
This is not the case with a clear text display: the user can scan the
text and hold on to diagrams. He can go through and understand the
text at his own pace.
My reference to a text is not directed against you or your concerns.
No - it's just about bringing your concerns closer to as many people
as possible.
And a text has another important advantage:
When you write a text, you have the chance to organize your thoughts
better and present them in an organized manner.

There's slso a difference between outlining your video, and writing a sentence or two which clearly states the main point. You could choose to do that.Stukas Audio wrote: Sun Mar 13, 2022 6:47 pmAh, the excitement and surprise of what one finds within might be better for the people.imrae wrote: Sat Mar 12, 2022 11:51 amThis is rather clickbait-y. But you got it right about clickbait. I don't typically watch videos that I don't have a clear sense of what they're going to be about.
So I guess you made the choice to only appeal to viewers who are willing to take the chance on clickbait. That is your prerogative.

Ah, OK. I have to admit I unsubscribed from CH's channel a while back when he started going on political rants and his rant about the (execrable imo) Westworld winner didn't entice me back, so that reference wasn't immediate to me, although I am fully aware of Paul's "Today I'm very excited to bring you..." intros.Stukas Audio wrote: Sun Mar 13, 2022 6:41 pm Thank you for the note. I realise your videos are tongue-in-cheek, but one thing you don't mention is that as far as I'm aware Spitfire pay the musicians royalties, not just a one-off performing fee, so I think some of your commentary is perhaps a little disingenuous. Also how many of us are going to record a full orchestra or deal with the terrible Kontakt interface?
P.S. Oh, and "heirloom" is pronounced "airloom" btw
P.P.S. I assume you're European? Use 25 fps, it's a lot easier to work with than the US system.
