Nobody pays those prices. PA have a discount voucher system and regular sales (2 a week at least) where most plugs can be had for $29.99 - $49.00 ... they do intro pricing too.SKyzZz wrote: Sat Mar 12, 2022 10:34 pm how other companies sell their plugins for crazy money is still not clear. You mentioned plugins for 29 euros. But they have Plugin Alliance consoles that cost 200, 300, 400 dollars. Isn't that crazy?

Never mind the price stuff. Dev asks what dev thinks he/she deserves - and market decides. It's fair either way. AAAND I think your pricing is pretty neat; pay for features you want. Cool

Call me disagreed but I feel like a dev willing to take market feedback into account in the place they're advertising a new product is only helping themselves - yeah, the market will eventually settle on a yes/no based on the final price and people's desire for it and ability to buy, that's a given, but if he feels it's valuable to poll the people he's trying to sell it to why stop him?
One of us misunderstands the pricing structure, though, I interpreted that as a roadmap with prices for different versions, with aims for an eventual price of $199 when the full feature set is implemented. So now it would be too late to get in at $39, that was back when it couldn't do as much. Hence the ascending Vs at the top, no?

Customers paid $39 when it was V0.5, we must now pay $129 for V0.8. That leaves a pretty bad taste in my mouth, particularly when I don't see a lot of value in the features added since V0.5.

Lets's ignore the fantasy pricing of Waves, PA etc. There are a few software compressors people will actually spend $100 or more on now. Unisum, Pro-C2, TrackComp, Novatron, Presswerk... These come from reputable developers and people have a good idea that they are buying something really special. The developers clearly communicate what is special about them and users can see the value vs a collection of other compressors.
There are some other compressors out there from smaller developers with somewhat special/unique algorithms at a lower price: Fircomp2, Molot GE, Kotelnikov come to mind immediately. While if someone just wants an interesting alternative texture, there is the Fuse audio range, MJUC...
It is not impossible to sell an expensive compressor plug in these days, but a lot of polish is expected and you need to make a case (with demos and explanation) for why yours is worth buying over alternatives.
This confusion around activation/demo approaches suggests that I'm not going to get a premium user experience, so deters me from investigating further while the plugin is priced in that category.
Btw referring to disposable email as a "loophole" is a bit unsettling. People want to protect their privacy and inbox while they know almost nothing about you and your product.

It looks like a Neve 33609. If it sounds exactly like a 33609, people would be willing to pay a high price for it. Nothing in the description indicates that this is the case, though.

Logic Pro displays and error and then quits.SKyzZz wrote: Sun Mar 13, 2022 12:09 amI have taken this problem. Tell me, do you just when we chose plugin - exit the application or Logic Pro get error?Ploki wrote: Sat Mar 12, 2022 11:22 pm i took a bite and demoed it.
Crashed both Logic and PluginDoctor, M1 and Rosetta.
Monterey 12.2.1
won't comment on the price before i demo it.
last time i spent that much on a compressor it was tone projects unisum (110€) but it literally blew me away and it's extremely configurable and flexible, and is totally unique - i can't get the same sound or close with any other compressor i have. Eager to try this one. Tell me if you need crash reports.
It loaded fine at first, but after inputting the trial license, it crashed and will now crash on load.
PluginDoctor outright crashes

This was the logic of this pricing policy.Agreed wrote: Sun Mar 13, 2022 4:14 am Call me disagreed but I feel like a dev willing to take market feedback into account in the place they're advertising a new product is only helping themselves - yeah, the market will eventually settle on a yes/no based on the final price and people's desire for it and ability to buy, that's a given, but if he feels it's valuable to poll the people he's trying to sell it to why stop him?

At least if this were the case, then we cannot voice it. So so this is a violation of trademark and copyright laws.Uncle E wrote: Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:31 am It looks like a Neve 33609. For Mac users!
Sorry for the inconvenience. Download the installers again in the cabinet (https://panel.iballroad.audio/files). Just please do not confuse them with the old ones. Everything should be working well now.
Thanks for the comments!

Just so you know, we'll split the cost in half. In other words, 130/2 = 59 USD
or one license, initially we provide 2 licenses. This will already help save money for those who do not want to spend money on 2 licenses.

Does that mean that you need individual licenses for each computer you use, or can one license be used on multiple computers?
This compressor seems to be aimed at high-end mastering guys primarily, at least that's the impression I get from the marketing and pricing angles, so I'd recommend some (20?) high quality downloadable 24/96 wav audio demos to showcase the plugin, rather than just a couple of video walk-throughs with all the inevitable talking and explaining.
Audio comparisons to well established hardware and software compressors would help a lot too.
Thanks for explaining what ADT stands for. That should be on the website too otherwise it just seems like made up hoo hah.
Mostly, give us the chance to judge with our ears first without having to navigate a potentially crashy demo. If the audio is amazing people will be more likely to put up with little inconveniences to get the tool.
But if the little inconveniences are the first impression, people are much more likely to just walk away.
