I've not had a chance to look at this yet (still at work), so I can't say what ground the modules cover, but it looks like there are many... It's also free :)
That looks cool i'll give that a shout

How about RP Distort?
Like any other suggestion here it isn't 1:1, but it seems close to me (+a lot more "distortion" types & more modulation).

Off topic: Predatohm used to be my favorite distortion. It still works, but the UI is pretty small.

U-He Zebrify.... is beautiful and Beyond, 4 lanes of modular FX goodness 😈

To answer the OP blatantly : NOTHING.

I have almost all of the mentioned alternatives above (bar Rift, I think) but CPhat is just more. or, rather, a combination of a few products in an aging (read: Mummy type) - but extremely useful and functional - interface.
It is Runciter, RC20, Zebrify - all together.

In my opinion this is one of the very few products that one can considered as a true VirtVint (Virtual Vintage). a timeless product (so is CamelCrusher, IMO. it just keep delivering, time and again). it is - as of its last major UPDATE - 11 years old (which equates to forever and beyond, in the virtual realm).

Ahhh ... well

You can allways buy (if you are on Mac) Logic Pro X

And then it's included in the stock plug-ins

(That's were it went!)

Camel Phat 3 is greater than the sum of its parts. The UI follows function, it's fast to get great results. There's nothing else that copies it exactly.

if you're not married to the UI and specific modules, you can look at the results and find plugins that are spiritually and results-similar, like Rift, which has, in fact, supplanted Camel Phat 3 for me. Personally I think it's an improvement, especially with rhythmic modulation. It does lack the fun of real-time XY modulation though.

If you do want the UI and specific modules then the workflow suffers. One option would be to get into the Kilohearts ecosystem. With Snapheap you can build the exact same type of modules, routing, and modulation (no XY pad but assign them to two macro knobs and automate it with an XY pad plugin/DAW ability or assign to XY in hardware). Or build it in Multipass and make it multiband. There are other high-level modular systems but the KH snap-ins balance the right amount of function vs complexity for this.

You could also build it with a virtual modular system. Then ignore the processing modules and focus on the macro controls and XY module. VCVRack is free and I think there are enough free modules to do this.

If you really want to rebuild the UI then you can do so with Reaktor. There are enough components in the Factory Library, and you can nick relevant modules from the User Library.

I recently tried the Logic X version, which has Camelphat pro combined with Camelcrusher in a single plugin. It is really quite aggressive and unwieldy. To get similar results you'd need a multi-fx device that has onboard distortion, bit crushing, compression, filters and decent modulation capabilities. I'd say UA's Triad/Byome gets quite close even though the individual algorithms are not quite as dirty sounding to my ears.

The Nomad LSD thingey is waaay overpriced at $179!
Keep an eye on Dont Crack, they've often had it in a sale and even free with another purchase once.

It's actually one of my favourite distortions though remember it has some pretty unique additions, FU filters, 'radio' eq, ring mod, convolution etc.

I had a feeling I wasn't alone in the love for Camelphat.

Does it copy the EXACT same options you have onboard the original CP (with all its MM filter and LFO glory) ?

Hell I started that thread, and have no memory of it.....

Now i'm worried.
I like when I start reading a post and thinking, “I should respond with agreement to this post,” only to see the post was mine.
