The demos sound excellent. They remind me of the Korg Z1 and OASYS PCI.

I demoed this again - and the Derailer - and was more impressed this time. Stacking multiple versions with variation between them gives a very nice "natural" sound. Definitely needs to be used in MPE mode with modulation, otherwise is a bit mild. Still too expensive for me I think but certainly rewards exploration.

played with the spring and plate too - modulating the plate size and shape is a lot of fun. I compared that to modulating the UVI plate and it is quite different. Again they have a very natural sound

yes, there is already another preparation thread... and even a Derailer thread (with posts from the developer).
i own both now, if you buy via KVR, the sale seems still going strong, but for how long? it can be somewhat cheaper, with the 'credits' added.. and dependent where you live.
Derailer had some striking updates, it seems, the strike(rs) were introduced last year, so they expand...
MPE implementation is too limited, but i already mentioned that to the developer, and will remind him of it.
working with a touchscreen and 'normal' keyboard (with channel aftertouch) gives more expression than... MPE...
but i was very much in doubt, the price and the bandwidth of the possible sounds. not the sound itself...
how more you dive into them the bandwidth is quite big. also playing style has a lot of influence. and automation..
they were to unique (even when i have Plasmonic, Kaivo, MSoundFactory), and for my 'style', they will have place, i can create sounds, that i missed. and they can be mangled...
Preparation has already a place in a project, a quite long project, and needs more work, but the preparation track works, works great, with some dissonant behavior. quite a strange, and still 'natural' sound.
i am quite impressed by both. but as always, it has a place in how i work, my music, even thinking to change a track that uses a kontakt library, to use Derailer, to make it more my style. or not, make a variant..
enough.
the demo is without limitation in time, but with noise per minute and no saving. enough settings to control, and to get, very different, although with the bandwidht of this instrument, it is a specialized instrument, but still, and even i can already achieve quite different results, i am only at the beginning.
and if Derailer is an example, Preparation will be extended..
