Is there a way to globally reset only the channel volume levels because I currently am having to CTRL+click each channel to reset it to 0.0 then link them and drag them down when I want to mix?
If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding. HOW CAN YOU HAVE ANY PUDDING IF YOU DON'T EAT YER MEAT!?

Instead of CTRL-Click each one.......why don't you click on the one on the complete left then SHIFT-Click on the one on the complete right ?

Post

If i'm understanding you correctly....
In the past i've selected all the channels and clicked 'link channels' from the menu and turned them all down the clicked 'unlink channels' when i was done. That's from memory a long time ago so apologies if it's not 100% accurate but it worked for me and was less fiddly than bothering with a load of faders seprately.

Yes, that selects all the channels. That's not what I'm asking. If you select them all and link them the channel volumes stay relative to each other. If you don;t link them you still have to ctrl click each one.

Well yes that's what i do when all the channels are set to the same vol, but if you link them all in normal circumstances they are all set differently and they stay relative. Actually I've just realised that you can drag them all down to minimum and they all get set at 0, whereas I had only previously tried pushing them up to max but they stayed relative.

Anyway sorted, cheers.

Select all channels, hit Quicklink and then “Abs” (absolute mode - force all parameters to the same value) left to the Q-Link button. All parameters will be set now to the value of the one you’re changing. Works for everything, not only for channel volume.

Nice one fese i didn't know about that.

Cubase has one of the most robust mixers I've seen, there's a lot of flexibility and options. I use the qlink alot to set pregain on abunch of channels, I think shift+alt+click is the shortcut to temp use qlink with sellected channels.
You can have multiple mix consoles up, one with group buses & fx sends only, one with instruments only or whatever you want. the control rooms really useful. just abunch of nice features. And the mix snapshots along with the mixing history is amazing

Is there a way like in Studio One??

I.e. having the same plugin on multiple tracks...
Select a few of the tracks and bypassing one bypasses the same plugin on all selected tracks but leaving the same plugin on the not selected tracks alone??

Sweet, thanks.

You can do that with Quicklink. Alt-shift to enable it temporarily for the next click, or click on Q-Link in the mixer toolbar to enable/disable it permanently. I suggest setting a proper key command for that, because once you get used to it, there is no going back. Makes setting up plugins like channel strips, preamps or tape emus across several channels a breeze, especially if the plugin itself doesn’t have proper linking features (most don’t).

Select a bunch of tracks and click shift+(alt/option) while doing anything and all channels follow.
It also works for plugin parameters. For example you have fabfilter eq inserted on all of them and adjusting one will adjust all of them at the same time. Useful if you for example want to apply low cut to all selected channels at the same time that have the same plugin.
