use physion to separate the components and apply a compressor to each.
however, nine times out of ten, the interesting non-tonal stuff is in the attack anyway, which a compressor is designed to handle in the first place.
unless you've got a specific application for this, it's hard to think of a generic tool that's going to work well as a way of processing tonal and non-tonal audio dynamically that isn't in some kind of split-process-recombine flow and which will work on all programme material.

Any other users of both SplitEQ and entropy:EQ+? I like to hear more opinions about the differences between the plug-in's.plexuss wrote: Wed Nov 17, 2021 8:46 pm....Specifically entropy EQ. Granted splitEQ is not exactly the same but the underlying approach is similar. splitEQ has more functionality and is better integrated and easier to use.
