ArtsAcoustic CL stopped working on Windows (10) a while ago - here anyway. I did contact 'support' but had no reply. I guess I'm in the market for a replacement, if it exists. It had some 'magic' on drums, but as I can no longer do a direct comparison, some help would be appreciated.

U-he Presswerk with DPR enabled got me pretty close, but ymmv.

I will second this suggestion. Presswerk I believe can get you in similar territory. Also, might be worth checking out the Mellowmuse selection. They have 1176 and LA2a style limiters with similar saturation curves.

Is it true that CL Series doesn't work on Windows 10? I'm considering upgrading my system to Win 10, bummer if so.

Eventide omnipressor will do CL character extremely well, particularly the negative ratios.

like the CL it's light on CPU, and it's very versatile.
also not expensive.
I haven't tried to install CL on my new machine so i can only suggest from memory...
i had some damaging denormal blasts from it on Windows and OSX in the past.
that company has some explaining to do. All my support tickets are yeeeeeears old now.

i just dug out my old ArtsAcoustic installers and they all actually went fairly smoothly. In use, as per usual the reverb is pretty stable, but the compressor and bigrock are unstable for sure. Even bringing up the about box is lethal. I actually tweaked them for a while and really do miss them a lot. But then they crashed a few times and I immediately fumigated.

Surprising they loaded at all on MacOS 12.2.1

but still, such a damn shame.

re. Windows10 - that's my experience unfortunately - it's never worked since...

I thought it was common knowledge that AA was abandonware.

As far as I am aware there are multiple reports that the developer doesn't respond, update, or support.

lucky i found my serials on my old machine cos i requested those with no reply in 7 years too.

Correct - that was a few (3 or 4) years ago.

i submitted a few support tickets each year for many years. I gave up about 5-6 years ago.
Companies like that need a warning on KVR. It's just as lame as people selling cracked software.
Buyer beware and all that, but they're in the KVR database and they're dodgy as.
