If I may make a wish: Negative timing for sample playing (positive is there already). Good for the swing ya know
I would suggest if you haven't done so already is to email Patrick this wish list.. I am not sure if he even reads this thread.

Would anyone else like to be able to see and manually enter the sample start & end point position (value in samples)? You can do this in most software samplers and wave editors. It seems this isn't possible in TAL-DRUM yet. This would make switching from one sampler to TAL-DRUM faster.

And am I right that besides ANALOG and TIMING there is no third humanize feature that fluctuates the velocity?

Is TAL-DRUM supposed to communicate midi note names to the host? Because it doesn't seem to work in REAPER.

Has anyone found a control that changes stereo to mono? I have only found the STEREO SWITCH control that switches the stereo channels (Left-Right => Right-Left). I usually use GMH Audio Stereo Tool to change stereo to mono and at the same time use its L/R Balance control to select Left, Right or Left-Right. Such control would be nice for TAL-DRUM, don't you think?

I asked this very question on the TAL Facebook group and they said they would implement it.
Haven't had the time to check myself, but supposedly if you have the latest beta, you should be able to do this via a menu option now. I'll check it out later today, as this was a must-have feature for me.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

I have not been able to make this work in Studio One v5. It seems that only some DAWs support instrument sidechain?
I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.

I am surprised Studio One (with its Steinberg history) doesn't.

I think all DAWs support it except Studio One and possibly FL Studio.

I ended up buying this bad boy. Once I saw how quickly he was adding features that made it a no brainer for me. I will basically treat it like an MPC, which means trying not just drums but also chord stabs and other quick hitting sounds as well on it.

Since the days of impulse tracker that feature is rare, basically have a pattern playing and auto-previewing samples on the selected slot as you browsed samples just when selected was really great for "happy accidents". The to replace you just pressed enter.

Mmh, I have the latest version from their website, but I cannot find a menu option to do that.

I think I found the Facebook post, but that seems to be about renaming the pads to follow GM drum kit standard. My question was about whether the pad names (any name, GM or not) are communicated as note names to the host, such that the host's piano roll shows the pad names for the corresponding notes.

Very neat. I have too many simple samplers as it is though. I'd imagine that there will be plenty of folks who would use something like this.
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

Meh, I bought it. It's discounted, it's TAL and looks nice and easy to work with.

Yeah seems like they misunderstood the feature request since the original question was about transmitting the MIDI Note names to the host, not renaming the pads inside the instrument.
