Hi all. I really liked the sound of this violin, if it's a violin, correct me if I'm wrong. Yes, I know the recording is old, but I really liked this sound. How do I get this sound. Thanks.

Thanks. So the key to the sound of the violin is long mic distance in a reverberant space and cranked preamps slammed to analog tape. That’s it. It’s a pretty standard Bollywood style production (though I believe this is Turkish.)

It's multiple violins. We call that an ensemble or orchestra.

One way to replicate multiple same instruments being played together is to overdub a few takes all played live, like double tracking vocals but for however many you want.

thanks very much for the detailed explanation, yes this is a turkish movie i watch them sometimes)). I advise you to watch old films sometimes, I don’t know how others see all this, but it seems to me that in old films there were more emotions and warmth. These films inspire me. I'm not only talking about Turkish films, but also Hollywood films, etc.
