Lol. Let’s just acknowledge the fact that it doesn’t take an elitist to listen to classical music. It’s almost all public domain and you can listen to it for free at literally any library.

the Jokanaan role was a stand-up comic; Herod was a Hollywood mogul, his daughter an aspiring actress.
Herod (Big Hairy Diehl)'s a rightwinger and decidely corrupt SOB, Joey Cannon a junkie and a shit-disturber (cf Lenny Bruce) with a big mouth who knew too much; who was of a pronounced, ah, non-right wing inclination. It doesn't end well.
