Thanks for adding the mono button.Version 0.9.70 / 18.03.2022
MONO button added for every mapping
Multi pad selection now also populate the parameters of the selected mapping not only pad related parameters
AHDSR attack of a few milliseconds fixed.
Assign sequenced outputs to the first 16 pads added (click at the preset name -> Assign sequenced outputs).

Is it possible to slice by transient and not beat divisions, is it me does it have a sound to it? a particularly pleasing one too.Tempted to get this as I love TAL stuff

i need to test this thing and see how it behaves if you move/rename a sample, if it lets relocate and saves the settings. something NUANCE sucks hard sadly.
EDIT:
just tested, TAL DRUM shows the Saved (in the project) sample paths it is looking for, i moved the samples to test and ET VOILA it loaded them then and recalled all the pitch, stretch etc. settings, THATS HOW IT IS MADE @NI, NEW SONIC ARTS and others. boom

hmmmm someone know if this is possible and how?
1. i got a loop but i dunno what bpm it is, can TAL Drum detect it?
2. how can i loop it and get it synced/stretched this loop then?
3. you cannot hold the mouse button and change the pitch and other values it seems?

There's no tempo detection but if you know the number of beats, you can enter them by clicking the BPM label.Caine123 wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 11:26 pm hmmmm someone know if this is possible and how?

There's no mouse button drag (except on knobs and slice/start/end points, etc), but mousewheel works on the pitch and other values.

hmmm but can you somehow sync/stretch a loop to the host tempo? if i dunno the bpm of my loop?neverbeeninariot wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 12:40 amThere's no tempo detection but if you know the number of beats, you can enter them by clicking the BPM label.Caine123 wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 11:26 pm hmmmm someone know if this is possible and how?

oh ok, i might write him the button drag option, this would be well if it would work.

You don't need to know the BPMCaine123 wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 1:11 amhmmm but can you somehow sync/stretch a loop to the host tempo? if i dunno the bpm of my loop?neverbeeninariot wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 12:40 amThere's no tempo detection but if you know the number of beats, you can enter them by clicking the BPM label.Caine123 wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 11:26 pm 1. i got a loop but i dunno what bpm it is, can TAL Drum detect it?

Load a loop into a mapping (assuming a properly trimmed loop...)
Click the BPM button and enter the number of beats
Activate Stretch
The loop is now at the project tempo
If you click on the BPM button again, it will show the original loop tempo (but playback will still be synced to the DAW)
Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to do? : )

ahhhh thx a lot! ok i think i got it now, it seems there is a limit, 10,6 beats, so you cannot stretch more than that. i dunno if i would do it ;D. but just checking it out if i wanna replace Nuance with it, i kinda like in nuance that you already have the edit screen instead of Tal you always need to click the edit screenneverbeeninariot wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 9:20 amYou don't need to know the BPMCaine123 wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 1:11 amhmmm but can you somehow sync/stretch a loop to the host tempo? if i dunno the bpm of my loop?neverbeeninariot wrote: Sat Mar 19, 2022 12:40 amThere's no tempo detection but if you know the number of beats, you can enter them by clicking the BPM label.Caine123 wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 11:26 pm 1. i got a loop but i dunno what bpm it is, can TAL Drum detect it?

There is a relationship between sample length, number of beats, and BPM. TAL-Drum appears to support loop tempos between 30 and 240 BPM, which it then has to stretch to the DAW tempo. Asking for high or low beat counts that convert to BPMs outside of that range won't be allowed.
To be fair, I've never tried to use a 50 bar (200 beat) loop, and probably won't, but I'm using an 8 bar perc loop with 32 beats at the moment with no problems and it's perfectly in sync with the host.
Yeah, Nuance looks pretty cool - I did check it out a year or so ago but decided against it (I can't remember why now, tbh...). It does seem very capable though, and more than just a drum sampler.

Just FYI, Kontakt actually does have an option to handle paths for non-Player libraries in one global folder, since K6.6 now. This includes your own custom samples, too, of course. As explained here.Caine123 wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 11:12 pm EDIT:

but
1. k6.6 so it means projects with k4 and k5 are not with this? sorry but 2022 they thought about that but not before? shows how bad programming/thought is put into it.
2. k5 doesnt show WHICH LIBRARY is missing/it looks for. again, huge pile of crap. there is nothing to defend such missing feature/error which tells you more from a well known company.
so my money goes to TAL DRUM if it convinces me more than NUANCE which also sucks sadly with remembering samples.

It shows exactly the opposite from bad programming/thought. It's a great and useful feature, and users requested it, so it happened. Doesn't matter when it happened, but that it did happen.Caine123 wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 12:14 am 1. k6.6 so it means projects with k4 and k5 are not with this? sorry but 2022 they thought about that but not before? shows how bad programming/thought is put into it.

Oh man I used that feature A LOT in v1, v2, and v3. Battery 4 was such a disappointment in so many areas.UltimateOutsider wrote: Tue Mar 15, 2022 8:08 pm That one feature is the only reason I still use Battery 3; it's the only drum sampler I know of that lets you non-destructively audition samples in a live kit. (They removed this ability- and several others- in Battery 4.)
Even Live and Bitwig's drum rack as good as they are in other areas do not have this feature AFAIK.
So can anyone confirm if TAL DRUM has in kit preview?
Edit:
Been playing a bit with the demo, and it doesn't seem like it has in-kit preview. This thing rocks though. Would be awesome if Patrick implemented this feature!

Yes, on the Slice tab, use the Auto knob to adjust the transient threshold. Depending on the source material, it might over or under detect, but it's easy to add, remove or move slice points.woodsdenis wrote: Fri Mar 18, 2022 11:06 pm Is it possible to slice by transient and not beat divisions
