I used the midi feature in the free Rift Feedback plugin with Noises, and it's pretty neat to set up several notes and play them with various sounds made in Noises.

Yes! We have several new "things" ideas that we want to do. It might happen in the futurevurt wrote: Fri Mar 11, 2022 8:58 pm have you considered a "thing" using the filter and bit crusher alone?

Cool! Anyway, the next update (probably ready next month) will feature MIDI to Pitch and also MIDI to Filter Cutoff, so you can also tune the filter (perhaps set to bandpass) for even more "pitchy" noises.Dirtgrain wrote: Tue Mar 15, 2022 2:01 am I used the midi feature in the free Rift Feedback plugin with Noises, and it's pretty neat to set up several notes and play them with various sounds made in Noises.

No doubt. Try it with the full version of Rift 2.0. I've been doing that with mine. Older post but I just did this today. First time using this synth. This may sound odd but I think it can replace my DFAM as a background percussion/noise machine.simmo75 wrote: Thu Feb 24, 2022 3:34 amYeah, shame though. I’d love to create some rhythmic parts from the more tonal noises.
I used an init patch and selected the tape hiss. The sequencer automatically gave it a synced, rhythmic sound that I was not expecting. My original plan was to use this as a background tape hiss sound that I evolved a bit by automating the synth. But the rhythm it gave was pretty cool and already close to being in the pocket. I added some delay and verb and side chained to the kit. Almost sounds like percussion now..has a DFAM vibe, I really like it in the track so I jammed out a take while messing with the knobs and printed to audio.
So I think creating rhythmic parts is very possible on this synth. I just stumbled upon doing it. You may have already figured this out by now.
Also the filter and bit crusher on this plugin sound top notch. Just awesome. I love going to 12 bit automating the downsample and high pass filter together to make transitions. Reminds me of how I use the Octatrack. The way the sound breaks up on this is just sensational.

having no MODulation options is really a big downer? i mean this thing is awesome to play around but it should definitely have some MODmatrix with filter modulations etc. i tested some demo sounds and sure you can modulated in the daw but if you want to have it modulated and used as a synced instrument it is cumbersome in that regard.
is there an option to have it retriggerd/synced when playing notes?

it is awesome
it really does come in to it's own, when you start using your own content.
hainbachs stuff is nice, lots of equipment i dream of owning
but once you start, and you hear it with a few of your own loops it becomes addictive, thinking about what to feed it next

Initially, with Hainbach, we thought about including more destinations for the Trip section but eventually decided to drop the idea.
Since we got several requests for a bit more options, we decided to put back the original idea of just adding two amount knobs to route the Trip to the Cutoff and Resonance. Of course, it won't be as flexible as having separate modulations, but the results are quite interesting nonetheless.
