I think it's important to consider the historical context in which two white ass albums from England, one which leans heavily on American blues licks, are considered the two landmark albums
I think maybe we can start to have that conversation now

hendrix either experienced or axis would also be up there, but blues as a genre, never really had the sales, that rock did and there weren't a great deal of black rock artists around.
black jazz artists would be more prominent at the time of the above records, but again, aside from one or two artists it never really got major sales and albums selling worldwide.
there were also, here, sadly issues with some places not being "black friendly"
theres a famous story, sammy davis junior, had just been on parkinson, major bbc, prime viewing, chat show.
was interviewed then did a song, the audience loved it yay!!!
after the show, the guests go to the bbc bar, exclusive for staff and such, so they can have a proper chat and nice drinks. except sammie wasn't allowed in.
worse still, the doorman still has the cheek to ask for his autograph!!
move forward to the punks, they embraced black culture and we ended up with two tone ska!
times do improve in some ways...

Sorry y'all. I listened to the whole 8 bit version of Dark Side of the Moon a few days ago and I guess I'm still angry about it
I would put Hendrix up there for sure,if we can only do rock

You’ve got to give the nod to Sgt. Pepper’s. First off, it was released 6 years before Dark Side. The Beatles were breaking new ground. There was really nothing like it when it hit. Don’t say “Pet Sounds,” because that album sucks. Is Dark Side more sophisticated? Polished? Mature? Yes to all of it, but there’s something so fresh about Sgt. Pepper’s, even though I put Revolver ahead of it as my favorite Beatle’s album. I think people listen to Paul’s “granny tracks,” as John called them, and puts it off as corny, but in the context of the full album, they’re pretty magical. Like waking up to watch Seals and Croft shows on Saturday morning and finding that there was acid in your Captain Crunch.

What is it that makes you so special that Pet Sounds should be negated because you have an unfavorable opinion?zerocrossing wrote: Sun Mar 20, 2022 4:39 am You’ve got to give the nod to Sgt. Pink Floyd are shit, so the question answers itself really, it's not something that's up for debate.
The Beatles do have a bit of art school wank going on, but not in the middle class trustafarian way those PF clowns do.
